Hmmm, definitely won't be often, but I'm just trying to avoid a situation where the landlord is pushing you around despite paying rent and all.
So generally speaking, singaporean landlords are arses? Man.

*
Just the simple rule of supply vs demand power, where demand more than supply.
In SG, owner is king. Some even have to 'interview' u!!
Rental money is not an issue to them, coz a lot of ppl are willing to pay.
So when ppl become king it's normal for them to become arses.

That's what I want to confirm becoz I've read few post before mentioning that we do not require to pay tax if we work less than 183 days + total income for that period <SGD20K, which I do hope so  laugh.gif
*
yes, less than SGD20k for that particular year u dun have to pay tax.
For example u join in 1 Dec 2010 and ur monthly salary is SGD19k, you would not need to pay tax. (i assume u have no other income from SG)
Butto beter confirm u just call IRAS to check.
U check with ur HR oso, cos ur company mayhave done filling for ur salary.

Hi guys,

For you guys who travel often from SG-KL-SG, which flight you guys recommend? I only need the cheapest flight.

The pro and cons:-

1) AirAsia (can save u convienient fee as you can pay via Maybank2u)
2) Tiger Airways (the cheapest sometimes but cannot use maybank2u, charge u convienient fee)
3) JetStar (the most comfortable but cannot use maybank2u, charge u convienient fee)
4) Firefly (not convienient bcos near arrive in Subang)
*
Really depends on timing and schedule
Gotto check at least aa and tiger.sometime either one can b cheaper including convent fee from tiger.
Jetstar chances are more exp but more convenient and u can take the train, again more comfy than taking bus.
But no harm checking it too.
Firefly not convent for me, but I beliv it's not cheap compare to other 3

I hate LCCT (Msia) and BT (Sg). The product mixed and retail offerings are so limited. Hence, I prefer any Budget airlines that depart from T1 (Sg) and from KLIA (Msia).
*
Only jetstar. U always go airport shopping kah?
Anyway I think t1 sg got stuff for shop especially for ladies at better price, but Maia klia not much cheaper if any compare to shopping centre in kl. Hence u can take a.Asia too

On a separate note, a friend of mine want to sublet his common room in Bishan for $700/$800. 10mins walk to Junction 8. Can PM me if interested.

Out of curiosity, how did u know it was approved, before u get to see the letter?
They call or email u?
or do you mean there's an approval letter, then they will ask u to wait for a 2nd letter for the required action?

Nope, whats the purpose?
I think it's more for the Msia government to monitor us, rather than to our benefit.

According to the Explanatory notes "The originals and a photocopy of each of the following items are required. Official translations are required if they are not in English. Original documents will be returned immediately after sighting." So better be safe, and get it done. U have to wait for 6 months to know ur result, why wana risk it because of small matter. Otherwise, u can reschedule ur PR application appointment. But dun reschedule more than twice.

i just read a bit further down. that case was a bit different.
what happened was the wife herself is a 2nd generation PR, cos her father was the 1st generation.
Hence, the 2nd generation pR's husband would logically be a 2nd generation PR.
Something to learn here, for your next generation.

Companies contributes that extra percentage to your CPF fund. Unless you can invest your money and make more money using the money you take home, its better to dump the money into CPF. It helps you save and avoid spending unnecesarily also.

bros, since he/she is unsure whether to get pr or not, why waste the quota.

yes, drive in and park and put coupons parking. then, drive back after 1 week.

just make sure, you dont pass thru the Gantry or ERP.
*
Very important is to get ur VEP.
It's illegal for foreigners to drive in without VEP.
I already hear 3 cases (including myself) didn't buy the VEP when drive in. By right fined few thousands, altho they were only fined $10.
I wasn't fined, but I wasted an hour looking for the VEP office after i went into SG only to find out its back at the custom. drove back to Johor and come back in. The $10 fine would have been cheaper.

The VEP office is at a blind spot (though some may disagree) and the VEP sign is so dam small. U will easily pass thru it and once u got to the vehicle inspection stage it's too late. so remember it's after the passport scanning but before vehicle inspection, which is a very short distance.
