QUOTE(venicelim @ Aug 4 2011, 09:44 AM)
yes. I am applying for internship placement.
But after my 4 months internship placement, I am graduating and can directly continue to work as permanent position after that.
The company is aware of that and the hiring manager has mentioned that will monitor my performance during the 4 months and will consider to continuing hire me as permanent after i complete my intern.
So, I think i am not basically "just an intern".
I am intern who able to continue as permanent after 4 months.
So from company point of view, they not rugi isnt it? instead, they untung cz considering that they can pay me cheap salary for 4 months intern, then only take me as permanent. or they can kick me out directly after 4 months if i cant perform.
So what's the down side that the company consider?
I dont understand why the HR seems like so irresponsible in my case.
Probably should follw forummers advice, write an email or call up the hiring manager to draw his attention on my case.

is that your next move ? hmm.gif

One word, Malaysia is hopeless....

I assume we as Malaysians working in Singapore will never ever return to Malaysia to work again seeing this kind of bullshits and inequality among the minorities happening in Malaysia every now and then.

I feel that even I am a foreigner in Singapore, I was being treated even better than I was in Malaysia as a Malaysian.
*
eh.. not for me, as long as the money can match i be back in malaysia
prefer my landed house brows.gif the food and family and fren
but then if i can afford a landed here, then different story hmm.gif

malaysia being chaotic, does provide more oppotunities if u the entrepreneur type nod.gif

i wanna ask, what kind of job can a materials engineer look for or expect in singapore? Because normally ppl only say mechanical or electrical or chemical.. I screened thru jobstreet and so on, i saw most of the engineering field is semicon related, is there any materials engineer or who might know about the market in sg that we materials engineer would best fit in? I would prefer metal related industry..

Normally what i see if you pay half month rental commission to the agent, the other half month are paid by the landlord, that was i experience last time when i rent a room through agent. Would it be 18.2k now?  hmm.gif  Very lucrative???  drool.gif

where is your "back home" that can buy landed for under rm200k? hmm.gif

anyway yes it is in property agent's best interest to drive the prices higher. higher price = higher commission for them mah. but this is also supported by high demand - if got low demand high supply, agents however bullsh*t you also they got not much influence to increase prices.
*
bought my ipoh house for rm90k and subang jaya one for just slightly rm200k+
to get a small hdb, need to have S$100k cash, but the small one cannot cater for my growing family shakehead.gif
still thinking buy small one 2rm and upgrade later or wait abit slightly longer one time pain go straight to those 5rm hdb, half mil leh sweat.gif

how is things with u ? rolleyes.gif

There are a lot of gated communities in JB. Most of the new development has got 'gated communities' like Ada heights, Bandar Dato Onn, and a bunch more.  Unfortunately, I think the prices of these properties are very high (most >500k).  The cheaper ones you can get maybe at Ulu Tiram matured housing area.

By the way, the HR added it is for Malaysian who work in Singapore. I just so confused about this income tax thing. I thought whoever kena tax would have to pay the tax themselves and nothing should be paid by company. But my company, if kena tax, I have to pay and company will use those $100x10 to pay for their part. Is there such thing?
I doubt they just find excuse to deduct my salary because at first they said apply work permit for me and asked if I am ok to deduct salary as there is levy. No fool would agree that and I was not desperate for that job then eventually they agreed to give me same salary reluctantly...

Hi All,

Can I know if applying to government bodies/government agencies in Singapore will it be easy to be qualified candidate and does the pay serve well (especially benefits, medical etc)? I came across the ad and one of the requirement is Singapore PR. For a newcomer like me (who never has an experience working in Singapore at all), can I apply Singapore PR?

Hi Ivan, thanks for replying. I never knew they have this kind of scheme! But I wonder if there's any fee charged to applicants? And from what I read, it is not easy to pass through. Can I apply a job in Singapore without obtaining PR first?
*
actually is very expensive, few K but if u want a fast PR rolleyes.gif

most member also apply job first, work fews month / year then apply PR
try first, i seen some cannot survive here, no fren lah, sux food, crowded mrt/bus with china woman on hp with high pitch .. etc sweat.gif
