If your HR act fast, everything can be done in just a week time. But, you got to wait for 2nd week to get your EP card or later depends on your appointment with MOM as it takes four working days for MOM to issue you the card.
*
after the approval, can we start work by IPA issued by HR without the EP card 1st?

coz the HR ask us enter sg 1month later after serve my notice here, do check up n straight away start work..

i am wonder, I will enter by passport only?

I believe you can start work with just your IPA. One of my indon colleague was like that.

I only started work after I got my card.

------------------

On an unrelated issue, I have tried signing up a line at 3 singtel and m1 outlets but all the branches refused to sign me up due to <6 months EP validity. Zzzzzzz.....guess I got no choice but to ask my boss to write a letter to indicate his intention of extending my pass.

Yes, you can start work with IPA provided you have a valid visit pass.

The white cad + the stamp on your passport upon entering sg is your valid visit pass. Coupled together with your IPA letter, you are legally allowed to work in sg.

You need to print out the IPA letter to show to the custom officer before entering sg. Ask your hr to send you the soft copy.

Apologies if this has been posted before, but has anyone had experience with renewing their passport at the Malaysian embassy here in sgpore? My passport has less than a year remaining and I want to renew it, preferably in sgpore for the convenience.

If I remember correctly, you still can, but not friends.
Need family members.
Married is limited to signing papers nia.

and my passport gonna expire in April next year
which mean i only have about 8 months left
is that going to effect my application?
*
Not at all.
My passport had a shorter valid period than you when my application was being processed.
But I would recommend you to renew your passport first before coming. laugh.gif laugh.gif
Updating your passport after getting your EP card is troublesome.
Anyway, in 2 months time, your passport should be "dead" already (minimum 6 months validity).
You still have to serve notice too.
