How come winners of the Orange League COD4 Tourney are not considered for COD4? Just curious.

Sc2 still a long way to go. We have to pick teams/games with the best chances to be among the top in Asia. Just like sports, malaysia picked badminton, cycling, bowling and squash. Unless there are exceptionally talented sc2 and fifa players, we will consider in the future.

Malaysia currently have 3 of the top 5 cod4 teams in asia. Blacks ops and upcoming mw3 will open up more possibilities.

Lol is a game that can draw more players compare to sc2 with cdkey accessibility problem. flying spaghetti monster malaysia is very helpful. Do you know that singaporean team is doing very well in the international arena? Lol is in wcg, eswc, iem and dreamhack.

he already stated clearly who they going to sponsor.

Maybe it's hard for you to understand since you're still studying, once you've grown up and has started to work, you will slowly understand why is that. smile.gif
Furthermore, Asia doesn't has much CSS tourney going around, even if you got the power to show, where are you going to show it?

Based on our past 6 months research on international Esports tournaments and professional teams, CS, Dota, HON and LOL will be our best bets. Even COD4 is a close call. CS Source will not see light at the end of the tunnel.

Unfortunately Special Force is not popular in Malaysia. SF is big in Korea. Move on!

Hi Chris,

We are indeed talking to co-sponsors. Orange Internet Cafe is 9 years old. We will make sure the Orange Esports will get thru the first 3 years!

Currently, Orange Revo is our best bet for upcoming WCG 2011. Cheers.

There are few games you may play competitively on the steam server but only cs1.6 get people attention in the professional gaming world. For your info, none of the top 20 pro gaming teams have l4dead team roster under their belt!

Guess you don't see why is my recent inactiveness in CSS has to do with something.

You've to understand, when you wanted to start a business, you have to see whether there's demand for it or not, if there's no demand, what's the point of investing? This is 100% equal to sponsoring, sponsoring = business.

Start a business = Sponsoring a team
Demand = Any competition going around in Malaysia/Singapore/or maybe online?

Orange Esports want to put Malaysia on the international competitive gaming map within 3 years.

Our best bets : CS1.6, Dota and League of Legends
Side bets: COD4 and HON

Please let us know how we can play a better "game" as a whole for Malaysia, not only the CSS you play.

It may sound cheesy to you but we doing Orange Esports as part of our "national service" or "corporate social responsibility". It is much bigger than just marketing for Orange Internet Cafe. We want to leave a legacy for people to inherit, waste no more time and talents we Malaysians have

I kinda dont feel that teams should be submitting their CV to get the sponsorship. Should scout for teams instead of getting them to do it.

I am not going to say anything but...
Lets put it this way...for example...

If the whole gaming organizer in Malaysia, organized CS : S tournament instead of CS 1.6, then I can assure you that people will confirm convert into CS : S.

People doesn't play CS : S that much its because there's nothing, there's nobody hosting or organizing a tournament... If there's CS : S tournaments going on like 1.6, people will play both 1.6 and CS : S, but then, its not my place to decide that.

All I am trying to say is, there's not that much CS : S tournaments going on in Malaysia...
From my experience from the past 7 years maybe? Only 2 tournaments that were held... Not including CGS though because its an International Tournament.

If you look at the E-Stars Seoul 2011 votes for Asian CS1.6 teams below, you will understand why CS1.6 will stick around for long

China - TyLoo (309540 votes / 23%)
Korea, redCode kr (309520 votes / 23%)
China - wNv Teamwork CN (157676 votes / 11%)
TAiwan - UMX (141529 votes / 10%)
Singapore - TitaNs (126046 votes / 9%)
Kazakstan - k23 (124695 votes / 9%)
Israel - eSrael Gaming (97311 votes / 7%)
Indonesia - Executioners (47679 votes / 3%)

What we are doing with Orange Esports is to get a team representing Malaysia that people recognize around the world. Not just in KL or cybercafe scene. It is not a problem that can be resolved with CSS tournament in CC. That's why we said CSS will not see the light at the end of the tunnel!

I see...
Alright then
Good luck to Team.REVO then, they need more experience though.
Put them into more competition other than the local, that would increase their gameplay.

Find a team from Australia, Indonesia or any others which are nearby to us, and let them play against them.

Good luck...

why bother for CS:S while the hottest team are mainly from 1.6

take for example :
Fnatic
SK-Gaming
Frag eXecutor
Natus Vincere

all of them are mainly focused on the 1.6 division.

and honestly speaking,

its hard to see STEAM CS:S server in Malaysia.

anyway, full support from me for Team REVO.orange, hope you guys will succeed. smile.gif

can you pls define "smash strong Malaysian teams" ? and who are your "sources"?

please lar.. stop flaming..
if they had stopped other CS teams from getting champion for recent tournaments? aren't they the best?

playing against foreign teams actually helps a team to develop, to adapt to the current trend of gameplays. playing esports is similiar to playing any other sports.. they should be exposed to foreign gameplays since esports is not as celebrated issue compared to other countries.

I'm sorry to interfere, I am just wondering why fifa is not one of the games mentioned(Among the top in Asia). Malaysia's FIFA players is one of the top in Asia if not the best, and they do received International recognition from most of the players world wide too. Below are some of the facts on some of the Malaysia's FIFA players:

Si_Jali
-Asia World Cyber Games Champion in 2006 & 2008
-Intel Asia Tournament Champion in 2008
-World Cyber Games Grand final 3rd Runner-up in 2005
-And based SK Gaming Rankings in 2009/2010 (http://www.sk-gaming.com/ranking/4/player). He is one of the top10 players in the world

Vin
- '09 FIFA Online 2 One Asia Cup @ Singapore (1v1 2nd Place)
- '09 FIFA Online 2One Asia Cup @ Singapore (CvC 2nd Place)

Alex
- FIFA Online 2 Asian Cup,Bangkok 2nd Runner-up in 2010
- FIFA Online 2 International Esports Federation(IeSF) @ Daegu, South Korea 2nd Runner-up in 2010

Alex
- FIFA Online 2 Asian Cup,Bangkok 2nd Runner-up in 2010
- FIFA Online 2 International Esports Federation(IeSF) @ Daegu, South Korea 2nd Runner-up in 2010
*
You are right in the info gathered. Malaysia must thanks FIFA player like Jali whose achievements put us no.27 in the WCG ranking. Our research also showed that quite a number of top professional teams also field a FIFA division. Orange Esports wont rule out supporting a FIFA player in the future because it is easier to do so compared to a 5 members FPS/RTS team. He should show his talents for everyone to see, and we can talk. Let us hope the upcoming WCG in Sep also include FIFA 2011. Cheers

After we picked the CS1.6, LOL and COD4 teams, now comes to the biggest question of all - How do we assemble the Orange Esports DotA team with a total RM50k sponsorship over 3 years? What should we do now such that 2-3 years from now Malaysia can have one of the top 10 ranking Dota team in the world?

Thus far, the following teams aprroaching us as potential candidates. We will interview the shortlisted teams
1.) Ex-Nirvana
2.) Mufc
3.) Leap Gaming
4.) Team Typhon

Or should we pick a captain and assemble a new team from scratch because DotA players are different type of gamers on this planet? Any professional advice? We want to do it right from the start because we will be investing money and time for Malaysia's future. Our decision deadline is 5th Aug before i leave for Taiwan.

Thank you.

Please do your research before u say this . . . .

Before u guys plan about the sponsor, Malaysia Dota always rank top 10 in the world. Please don't take all the credit, Ks - Eswc Runner Up, Nirwana. My - Estc Champ , MuFc - WDC 4th placing
The above teams was rated among the top 10 in the world
What r u talking about?

Winning one single tournament doesn't make you Rank No. 1 in the world! Look, where are Ks, Nirwana and Mufc now? Any ranking today show that they are rank top 10 in the world now? How can you be sure that they will still be top 10 (most probably with different players) 3 years from now?

What we are doing at Orange Esports here is get it sorted out and leave a legacy for Malaysian gamers, just like those professional teams in Europe.

Listen
Your sponsor won't lead the team to become top 10 in the world because
You are only sponsoring them travelling incentive and air ticket(s) 'if' they manage to qualify for something big oversea. If you are doing this for egames community Malaysia, you should assist and help on these teams/individual to 'qualify' or to win a slot to those big events. Meaning now u guys wont give out anything unless the team himself/individual excel in their respective games. Your sponsor clearly shows that u guys are aiming to make name on the 'cheapest' way.
If u really care and wanted to contribute to Malaysia egames, you guys should
1) Give them fix salary per month - Doing so, they can concentrate more on their training without worrying their financial needs
2) You should give training or guidance for respective games, not just jump in to sponsor if the team is good. (Contribute nothing to their success but sponsor in order to get name when they manage to go for international tournament)
3) 3 years contract? Are u kidding me? This is ridiculous , re-think of the contract term.

At least if u guys can do these, i give my full respect on how Orange contribute to the community. Or else stop claiming this and that on how good your sponsor is......

guys guys lets not fight here -

what i think is Orange do provide Tanning to the representative teams if they were to select and agree to join, not that they just trow money into the teams and squeeze the famous juice out of the team. As the salary part i do agree on that but you must think on the sponsor side (Orange). What if the team suddenly pull back and dont intend to join? a contract surely need to be done as if both team n sponsor will have their TnC. so Egpro i hope you can see from both side.

Getting corporate sponsorship and government grants to pay a fixed monthly allowance/salary to players is our 3 year objective. That's exactly what we briefed the 3 teams we brought on board. But before we get to that point, we have to get our acts together. Train, compete and marketing. If you are following Orange Esports development over the last 3 months, you will get to know better what we are doing. No CC in Malaysia is foolish to throw out RM200k for cheap publicity.

Training once or two a week definitely not getting the team/individual anywhere. My point here is when you to sponsor a team, it must have been go thru scanning and selection. Therefore the team/individual selected must have meet all the criteria. After going thru this procedure why you still doubt the team will last or perform in the future. You guys are not random selecting and i believe the current orange cs,cod, lol is not just a bunch with normal skill, they are the best in malaysia. Spending money on advertising and promoting the team will not boost their standard where as financial back up which allow them to have more time to train as well as some professional training and guidance will improves them. Before of forming this orange esport thingy, 1st thing u guys need to take care off the the point 1 and 2 that i posted earlier. If you all cant get this work, pointless of getting the whole thing started. I foresee this will lead to a total failure and very bad for esport in malaysia not as what you guys claim having a top 10 team in the world.
Btw you wont be spending 200k as what u claim. I can guarantee you, with your plan, it will end up all the teams/individual not even qualify for further tournament which will be held oversea.

Orange Esports will be here to stay, just like the Orange Internet Cafe over the last 9 years. Time is on our side. No matter how pessismistic you are regarding esports scene in malaysia, we are here to make it work. No one in Malaysia will pay the players team to start with, 5 teams x 5 players = RM25k per month or RM300k just on salary alone. We have to work ground up.

I'm not siding with anyone here but somehow I agree on certain point from egpro like financial funds for Each Orange Team. For example if each Orange Team CS,COD and LOL going to have friendly LAN training with other strong team, they need to spend their own money to pay for the cyber cafe hour rate unless you can provide 1 Orange CC that free of charge for them to conduct team training. Monthly allowance will help them focus well during the training without need to think twice about their budget control. Peace !~

All the teams are having free cc access! Our COD4 team selected wangsa maju seksyen 2 above brj (Orange 1) as their home base. Cs team selected the aman suria new outlet (orange 24) due to open this september. And today, after we met up with our lol team, they selected wanngsa maju next to zatimanis (Orange 9) as their home base. Home base means they will do regular trainings there. They will have posters and their winning trophy + mock cheque display there. Monthly allowance scheme not the time to implement till we get corporate sponsorship or government grants!

After we met up with MADgaming team members last night, we are pleased to announce the Orange Esports Hon Team roster:

(1) Saw "zvarnjackz" Chun Hou
(2) Tan "MrPuding" Kent Noon
(3) Soh "Cy`" Chun Yuan
(4) Mohd Azwaf "MizuH`" Bin Mohd Fuzi
(5) Fadil "Kecik Imba" Bin Muhd Raziff

They will prove their worth in the upcoming WCG Singapore Hon Qualifiers in KL next month.

With the new appointment, Orange Esports currently have CS1.6, LoL, HoN and CoD4 competitive gaming teams under its umbrella. We are still cracking our heads to decide on the DotA roster. Can you read the crystal ball?

Mufc dota team will do well without Orange Esports support. We have met and we are still talking to winter, mushi, xtc to form a Orange Esports Dota team. It seems like either we pick them or never. We trust working with them and dota hideout will do more good for the dota community in malaysia. They are still our best hopes for assembling the best dota2 team to represent malaysia. What do you think?

Just wondering, if I have a small collaboration proposal for Orange cafe. Where should I send it to?

I represents Lowyat.Net Team Fortress 2 community and we plan to expand our network into DoTA 2 especially local gaming scenes by providing well maintained public and private match servers.

If possible, hope you can drop me a PM as I might miss out your reply here.

Good luck for all the teams! smile.gif Will Orange Esports sponsor any other Amateur team from Malaysia? I'm currently helping my friend's team to find sponsor, they just qualified into ROCCAT GosuCup south-east asian qualifier $2500 top 4,they are team Noble.My. They will go against MUFC on 26/9. I know they're still not qualified to ask Orange Esports to sponsor but I hope there will be another DotA team from Orange Esports can pariticipate in Amateur tournament since many non-amateur players already banned by some of the cyber-cafe's tournament smile.gif *Sorry my english doesn't sounds good* my name is Eric,Hope Orange Esports will think about this smile.gif my contact number:017-5838933. Thanks a lot!
