Just want to ask any thinkpad users suffers this issue:

*press the keyboard G,H,J (3buttons) simultaneously and there's a loud beep. It's quite annoying when I am typing fast. Anyone knows how to turn this 'beep' sound off permanently? smile.gif
*
Hey I got the same problem, I press "4,5,6" or "g,h,j" or "t,y,u" etc random combination it causes the same 'beep' too. I notice the 'beep' volume is depending on your volume setting.

Initially when I first heard it, I got quite a shocked because I was working real late and it was a quiet night yawn.gif with no one around then suddenly...... "BEEP" ! blink.gif shocking.gif

So anyone knows how to turn it off without adjusting the volume setting?

I found the solution for this problem please refer to the steps below ...

Yup, present on most Thinkpads and, for that matter, laptops in general.

Bring up the Control Panel, then click on System and bring up the "Hardware" tab and click on Device Manager. After you have done that, click on View>"Show Hidden Devices" and expand "Non-Plug and Play Drivers" by clicking on the little plus sign next to it. Scroll down to where you find "Beep" and disable that device driver. Then click OK/Apply to save changes and test it out. You shouldn't have the beep when you hit three keys anymore afterwards

i'm now using kingston kvr alone and runs flawlessly smile.gif

what u wan to do is u need not mix up different frequency/timing ram, if u r goin to run dual channel, same chipset/brand is advisable

as far as i know, only T60 is available, so far hvnt seen R60 with tht kind of spec appeared here, maybe the high end T & R hv similar price thus people will rather go for T series

T series = magnesium alloy casing
R series = ABS plastic

just for ur info the price for tht spec is sky high, hv a look at the thread below

just brought 2 unit of Corsair 512MB ddr2 667MHz ram. When i plug in both ram, my r60 failed to power on.

i will only power on when i mix 1 unit of corsair with my existing kingston 256MB 667MHz ram or just by 1 corsair itself.

wonder why i cant power on with both corsair ram?

help!!!!!!

to make sure it's not the ram problem, u tried both corsair stick w the mixture of existing kingston

i doubt the incompatibility issue, make sure u slot the ram firmly, if it's really ram problem, go back and exchange with 1gb single stick, dual channel runs faster theoretically, but we wont notice in the real usage unless u r do bency

i tried mine w 1gb kingston mix w other ram no problem, anyhow now i'm using 1gb single stick, looking to upgrade later

no problem smile.gif

btw how bout u google the benefit of dual channel for me? tongue.gif

i always feels tht dual channel is not important for laptop, as the limitations of chipset and processor eg 400mhz, 533mhz, 667mhz, plus 2 stick ram = more power consumption tongue.gif if there's a choice giving 1.5gb ddr2 533 single channel vs 1gb ddr2 667 dual channel, i'll rather go for higher ram capacity

unless i'm on a desktop, dual channel will give more significant result, as the proc is 800mhz or higher, with additional OC, we'll only make use of dual channel flex.gif maybe i'm wrong, but thts my analysis so far
