I don't nitpick so much on processor but last I used AMD was Phenom II X4 965. I did not keep up to date with the news so I'm not sure which to pick..
You're suggesting AMD why not Intel?
Ryzen 4000 is a overall better package. I don't see any reason of getting the Intel one unless you want the additional peace of mind for stability and TB3

Question, can both handle tasks like 20/30 word document file and alot of processing in Excel sheet?
My mac looking about 13/14gb everytime running it or maybe because my chrome took alot as well.
I just want to ensure some reliability that it wont break within 1/2 years down the road.
Apologies for my lack of technical knowledge when it comes to these details comparing between AMD INTEL, RAM and GPU

Thinkpad L15, R5 PRO 4650U.... 8gb ddr, buy another (8gb ddr4, dyi)... system RAM to 16GB... around RM2.5k (depending on the ssd you choose)... buy more warranty if you want...
Poor screen for colour work (54% sRGB) ....bright enough only in office settings (250 nits)...
You can upgrade the RAM to 64GB, SSD and wifi card....anytime in the future...

L series ThinkPad is the rare Ryzen 4000 model.
It's the rare exception to still have 2 slots of user-replaceable RAM.
Ryzen model should came with dual-heat pipe instead of single on Intel.

Want to ask, For autocad 7d, Which machine suitable? Also thinkpad got 17 inch?
I think last gen they have 17" for their P-series Thinkpad. This gen (Malaysia) no news yet.
I saw you in the other thread, I will say the safest bet is probably some gaming laptops. Though I don't think you need to go for a too powerful GPU for that (I'm not aware of your type usage with AutoCAD (7D?) but my normal use mileage with CAD is it can work with decent RAM/CPU).

For spesis bangsawan, just go for the top end offerings by MSI/Gigabyte/Asus, you can't go wrong with those RM10k++ laptops...
I posted this already in the Thinkpad review thread, but it makes more sense to go here.
Hello Thinkpaders, I'm a foreigner who's been stuck in KL since the start of MCO, but I've been loving Malaysia, so that's ok. The only problem is my Thinkpad has been having problems.
Can anyone recommend a computer repair shop in KL?
I'm guessing my motherboard may need some minor soldering work. I have a 1st gen X1 extreme which is working mostly ok except that one of the RAM slots is having issues. Most of the time it will not boot with both RAM slots filled. Sometimes, but rarely it will boot and work just fine until there's any light movement or shock (even typing on the keyboard), then it will crash. It seems like there is something that shouldn't be making contact shorting the system.
So again, I would appreciate any repair shop recommendations that can do more advanced board repairs. Thanks!

You would be hard-pressed to find any service centers that do board-repairs (like Louis Rossmann).... they would change/replace your entire board... hopefully your laptop is still under warranty, as this will be done for you for essentially free...
