QUOTE(prasys @ May 12 2019, 01:13 PM) eGPU comes with the GPU - it's together , else it would have been expensive. You can pick used one for RM 1600 or so. You'll get power of eGPU + power from the quad core For me , I have to take original charger , I can't charge X1 Extreme with USB-C unless it is 85W or 100W even that it's slow charging. FOR X1C , you can easily charge it with 45W charger Thanks @ prasys for the info. Will search for those 45W charger in Lazada to serve as an alternative. Oic, i tot eGPU is just casing box for us to install the GPU in it

I picked this one because it's small 45W USB chargers are very slim or you can buy PD Powerbank.

Now they jack up my Aukey 56w pd to RM169, the price for upcoming sales is RM144 QUOTE(Man On Fire @ May 12 2019, 09:33 PM) Hi...I'm looking for a laptop mainly doing work. Hope fong can give me your best advice. Can consider Thinkpad T480 (customize): i5-8250U, WQHD panel, 4GB RAM (upgrade manually), optional MX150, optional backlit kb and fingerprint reader, 256GB SSD, optional battery upgrade (will increase weight slightly) NTSC>sRGB. But basically the higher the better

https://www.ultrabookreview.com/24380-2019-lenovo-thinkpads/Why the X1C 7th gen still using LPDDR3 in 2019? I already shocked to see 6th gen still using the same, even T470 already into DDR4 This make 6th gen very sought for

Getting Started

hi guys, considering getting my very first ThinkPad and trying to decide between the L380, T480 or the E490
E490 - price and specs make it very tempting, but wondering if it still has the heating problems which the 480 had. T480 - my current #1 choice, and still trying to decide if the WQHD is worth the extra money.
any input guys? this will be primarily used for office work (Ms office 90% of the time) with the usual video streaming for fun at times.
Budget wise, if I can keep it between 3.5 to 4 would be best
Thanks all!

hey guys, my cousin just got an X1 carbon today and has been complaining about the high temperatures during idle (55c) and youtube playback (73c). he's thinking about repasting with liquid metal, but he's concerned about voiding the warranty.
does lenovo allow user repasting?

Not high IMO considering it has thin chassis and 8th gen ULV No need liquid metal. A good non-conductive paste will do. Will not void warranty unless you damage something
