Yours' with back-light keyboard or without?

Nope. As far as I can tell, non-customized version cannot add backlit. I hate it, almost bought the 480s due to this, when I customize the 480s to match the X1C6 but with the back lit, the price is the SAME.

I went with the X1C6 because I can change the backlit kb later, but I can't change the form factor of the 480s.

Mine is the one on the right, or the one you cannot customize. WEb price is RM5599. I applied my 15% off discount and got it for RM4750, cheaper than the FLASH72 sale coupon I think. Added accidental damage protection just for piss of mind (peace of mind)

Backlit is meh , compared to MacBook keyboard backlit..thinkpad one is a joke..thinklight was more like it.....personally I rarely use it because it does not auto on like macs or turns it off when not in use....

X1C6 is a good buy , you got TB3 bro..need external GPU to become a gaming PC ? Not a problem....

1 thing that I really miss from MBP is the keyboard auto backlit.
I believed my 10-year old MBP has smarter auto backlit than my X1C6

But... i sell contracts. no merchandise. hahaha. Sure it should be easy to let go as long as I undercut the market. I dont mind too much

I have used the thinklight, didn't like it as much as the backlit. I guess personal preference

Your phone charger can output how many Watt?
I believed need those charger with PD to charge th X1C6, but I've never tried charging with normal phone charger.

Since you bought accidental coverage, maybe can try charging the X1C6 with your phone charge once you received your laptop

USB c is not TB3

TB3 and USB C shares the same port. When you connect a TB3 dock - you can plug in a lot of things , think of it as your external PCIe - adding graphics card

Your phone charger is what at most 15W - it's not enough...it needs USB-PD to do it. You can pick up a 65W charger or so that you can charge both your phone and the laptop

I bought this 65w charger from taobao, been few months already. So far so good and it's half the size.

To charge your laptop you will need Power Delivery powerbanks, I'm currently using Energizer XP20001PD to charge mine. Phone charger will not work.

My Thinkpad is very heavily customized. I ordered last Wednesday but no sign of shipping. I guess it's going to take very long time to arrive.

Guys! what is the best way to take care of the battery so it is long-lasting? Should I have lenovo vantage to keep it at 70%? Dont need the battery at 100% all the time until I need it (when stepping out of the office for the whole day)

Okay, then this is a reverse stupid question. Can I use these chargers to charge my USB C phones then? It would be awesome to be not having to bring the power brick with me in my bag, and just bring this PD thing to charge my laptop and phone

I did keep my battery between 70 to 80% with lenovo vantage.
Yes, 65w is able to charge almost everything. The charger will adjust the voltage accordingly.

What's your spec ?


I set mine to 60% , if it's constantly plugged in 60% would do the trick

Just purchased mine T480s custom spec. I only custom the gpu and backlit keyboard.
My main criteria is GPU, weight and height, also price lol



I own T450 due to my company provide thinkpad as their working laptops and to surprise, they already started handout T480 this year to the employee.
That was the reason i chose the S version since it will be more exclusive to consumer side
