Major stock rom upgrade like 2.2 to 2.3 also won't erase the apps? how about the things inside the internal sd?

I wonder after the upgrade, it's possible the price of LG O2X will climb up a bit or not? hehe...

took me 3 tries to update to GB..third time was a charm..
but then i realized, now I dont have ad hoc support, means cannot use my phone...

2) how much user available internal storage is left to install apps?

Bro, try to play a full hd and tell me if its running h/w and not software. I tried mine (1080P), and i'm not talking about avi file, its mp4 (download mx player, and play if the top right side show H/W means its running hardware rendering and if its show S/W then it means not supported. If you run avi, its actually using the processor to help decode and it it NOT hardware encoding support)

How to test whether it work via hardware rendering, go to google and download a program called youtube downloader. then open youtube and look for a video from youtube.

Copy the link and paste into youtube downloader to encode it as MP4. Make sure select the format encoded as HD 1080P and this will stream a full hd and saves it as FULLHD (expect huge filesize) which is FULLHD and  then open the file in LG 2X to test.

Reason why i emphasis is because this way you can confirm whether they have the full encoding or partial. If you use 720p mp4, 2X will show H/W but if you put FULLHD then it show S/W fast encoding. This is NOT hardware (which suppose to use tegra processor to handle the video decoding)

IF your hardware support fullhd decoding, imagine your games is using actual processor + GPU (tegra) to handle it.

The new ICS is suppose to utilise the GPU to handle the rendering for all (i mean all include your interface effect, this will actually improve the overall performance + battery, instead of just pass the calculation to the Processor and then return the result to GPU tegra2 for display

P/S: Avi is actually raw format and it can be handled by the 2 processor, but if you really want to see performance, the GPU tegra2 suppose to be the one working side by side with the CPU.

Before i forget, MX Video Player 1.4a only start support LG 2X hardware decoding which for me. DARN its about time we have a proper player which unlock the hardware capability

Well the reason ppl Sell of the phone is because the rom is crappy and this suppose to be their high end model and gingerbread os suppose to be a upgrade to enjoy the phone but the released of this version is rushed & way long overdue release. When it came  out, its a disappointment on certain area such as battery (froyo is known for battery drain and  gingerbread suppose to resolved this, but unfortune for us, the gingerbread does not completely resolve it and with their initial stand on not supporting ice cream sandwich for the model, it totally pissed the customer off. and when they retracted their statement, the damange is already done.  The hardware is good but if preloaded with underperformed rom, its really makes the users pissed off (what is the point of having good spec of phone when you cant use it thru out the day and the support from maker is forever late compared to others? So for me, i don't mind the support as long as there is alternative such as community support. I'm now playing with ICS on my LG 2X and by the time LG annouce the stock released, i'm on my way to either playing with newer rom or maybe newer phone

Yeah bro, it still rock in gaming (haven't found any game it cant play but suck when the battery beep and telling me to charge when you're having fun) and too bad for me, its my main phone and i need to use gps to get around alot ....another killer to the battery

Hmm, maybe LG 2X may survive to see the next gen rom, just not from official  . Like now the samsung tab P1000 still rock due to overcome rom support (hopefully will see ICS since they skipped the honeycomb - i played with P1000 and im still dumbstruck + amaze on what this tab can do which my LG 2x cant....DUUH just huge like putting a diary size phone when talking  )

actually 1 more thing i would like to ask, many here said this is a damn good gaming phone(i'll be using it mainly for gaming actually), so will the outdated OS(i mean next time since LG very slow in getting updates)/not properly done OS affect the gaming in terms of performance/support? I mean if next time got new games, will this outdated(next time)/not properly done OS make this phone not compatible with the game?

Yeah bro, how i wish there is better cell which is slim. Really a waste as i want the capacity of mugen ext battery but try to maintain as slim as possible. All i can do is switch around battery, when i know i'm going to push the phone alot, i slot in the mugen, otherwise use the other battery like the one from e-cell (2430mah - nope it not COMPLETELY 2430, at most near the 1980 - 2000 from what i measured, but what to do, its still cheaper then mugen and atleast i can put back stock cover )
