Cheaper price but bad quality and workmanship.....worth?
Let say you get a cheapest quote is 165 by now.later on you found 1 supplier comes up with 160 per fr.cheaper right?Or maybe you after you found the 160 you meet up with another supplier quote 158 much cheaper!!!!when is going to end?which supplier will provide you the quality and workmanship?i believe the cheaper price you request from supplier they will give you back exactly the material according to the price.A few ringgit cheaper wont make alot diff unless you are running on a very big project with more than 10k fr.

I don't have any friend who can recommend a reliable supplier to me..What I can do is to find and contact one by one to compare the spec and price..of course, when a people with limited budget will always looks for the lowest price first...

The quotation I received is from Berjaya Steel Railings

Go and take a look at their completed jobs. Then you will have a feel of the expected quality.

By having the stainless steel c/w tempered glass railing, you are already looking at a slightly upmarket product. So, expect to pay slightly more for quality workmanship biggrin.gif

My house also installed with stainless steel railings and tempered glass, it looks very nice but got to be very careful, everytime, when i need to take bulky and heavy things upstair or downstair, u need to be careful as not to hit the tempered glass. It may damage the edges of the glass. I have knocked the glass twice when i took my 10ft ladders up and down. vmad.gif

This may sound silly; how do you use foot run as measurement? How many foot runs are there for a typical double story link house staircase?
Thank you..

For stainless steel staircase, look for Mr Hoo from Mei Shu Stainless Steel.

I ordered from Mr Hoo two sets of SS stair rails, all shower curtain rods (including a 3-pole L-shape one) and bathroom grab bars. I’m planning to let Mr Hoo do my kitchen island too.

His price was very good - specifically, less than half that of my contractor's.

His specs were better than other places too. He gave me t1.5mm Grade 304 steel for the top rail and legs (14 legs for each stair rail, so total 28 legs). For the 4 galley rails, t1.2mm.

Other stainless steel companies were much more expensive. They either didn't want to state the steel thicknesses, or were giving only t1.2mm at most, or decreased the number of legs. One even said t1.5mm was "difficult to source".

After installation, I tested using a magnet on all the surfaces. All pass.

For stainless steel, I would definitely recommend:

* Mr Hoo, Mei Shu Stainless Steel, 019-663-8635

Can say Karen Wong introduce, maybe he'll give more discount ;-)
