Seeing as this thread had already reached 47 pages, I hope it's not too late to introduce myself.

I go by the name "xyekit" (ask me how you pronounce this!) and am a HR6 in MHP3rd.
Played all the way from MH to MH2-Dos and all the portable series.

Heard about a female hunter, came running.


Quoting on my first post here, I hope it's not wrong since I have a few questions:-

The venue ... don't you mean "3 Two Square"? Right next to Tun Abdul Aziz mosque? Possible if I joined?

Now this got me curious. What quest is this? And requiring a hammer? I stun with punishing blow.

By the way is there a kind of taboo to be asking how many hours of play you guys (this thread) played in MHP3rd (inclusive
of the PS3 HD ver.)?

I'll go first. I have accumulated about 200+ hours of play. (I hope this doesn't scare people off)

This site is my personal favourite since it looks pretty well-maintained and updated. I just wonder why this link didn't appear
at the top of Google search "MHP3rd wiki".

You can find almost everything there (including pics and scans of MH magazines, yay) from monster drop-rates to weakzones
and felyne skills (set with Japanese-to-English translation!), down to monster roars.

Gotta love DevilJho's roar (the only one worth getting your ear-drums blown to bits IMO). What about you guys?

No problem! The direction of attack upon letting go of the charge (only!) can be adjusted a little (if I'm not mistaken), much like the vertical charge.

This particular GS charge seem to have shorter range, so I usually only use it as the finisher to a chain of comboes and roll-out right before a monster gets up from a fall or waking up from the flashbomb effect.

Okay enough babbling

What's the casualty rate for this weekend gathering's hunt?

Posting after midnight? Dante, Aeon and Instant_Noodle no need sleep? lol

Monsters in MHP3rd seem to have improved accuracy and tracking. For most projectiles shot (if not all), monster locks
onto your position until the projectile is fired, so gotta roll right after the shot.
I guess the hardest part would be to predict when you would be targetted by projectiles, in a hunting group of 4.

IMO, I feel MHP3rd is tougher than previous series due to the polished and more fluid movements of the monsters (also the added monster moveset that covers a the rear e.g. Akantor's rear uppercut). Previous series don't have these, making it really easy for GS users to creep up a monster from behind, putting together a full-charge on monster's head whenever they turn 180 degrees to face the hunter.

I did not include Fatalis'es in above paragraph.

One day I might break the limit of characters per post...

Triple Tigrex was real challenging but fun! Well, technically not exactly 3 Tigrex at once (2 at once, but Tigrex'es respawns everytime one dies). Should we do a challenge on this? Solo'ing, we see who can do this the fastest XD

Btw does anyone know what program to use to do recording on the PSP? Would be fun if we could capture epic moments during each gathering (e.g. how Sanction manages to jump into every Rathalos fireballs with 100% accuracy or how terrible our strategy was for the Triple Tigrex).

How did you manage to snap a picture? 3-hands?
