AFAIK affinity always causes 25% more dmg when it crit.. affinity on weapons and skills show you how many percent it will crit at.. so if your total affinity is 70% means you got a 70% chance to deal 25% more dmg when it crit

hmm...that means I'll be choosing from either 200 raw consistent damage (ignoring weapon sharpness) or average of 180 - 225 damage. Just comparing between Shadow of the Moon and Storm Katana “Dark Moon” in the Long Sword tree.

I suppose those with 10-20% affinity no point considering...just get raw damage. But with 40% affinity, its ok to get the other weapon yes?

erm most of the time the waepon u can use is already being limited to 1-2 bow for each monster really.

like tigrex = means u naturally need a rapid bow if u want to slam on his head (which will make the fight go faster). and then from there, u would want thunder element for best effect. SO u only have 1 choice, the yellow butterfly bow (thundr+rapid shot).

its pretty seldom to get to pick ur own fav bow unless ur doing multiple monster quest, in that case u judge from the monster size, all big monster = pierce raw bow (narga bow), all small/medium size = rpid raw bow (sand barioth bow).

what i am trying to say is that usually its not ur choice to pick affinity/raw. the monster u hunt already decided that for u. u will have to 'make ur bow work' by all means.

weakness exploit is very simple , basically it gives you 50% affinity when you hit a monster weakpoint. weakpoint here meaning hitzones one the monster that is more then 49 on the chart..

so lets say you already have 50% affinity and you hit a great jaggi with a sword , it will add another 50% on hit therefore it is 100% ciritcal upon impact
