 Geffen Records plans to bring the concert “Nirvana: Live at the Paramount” to ALL RETAILERS on Blu-ray Disc on December 27th. This release comes as part of the 20th anniversary of the band’s monumental album “Nevermind” from the very same year this concert was filmed, 1991. The concert was shot on 16MM film and is in fact the only show of the band to ever be shot on film. We do know this release will be in Hi-Def, however we’re just not getting any official word yet on if it will be in either 1080p or 1080i and what aspect ratio this will come in but stay tuned. Audio here is said to include both Uncompressed Linear PCM 5.1 and 2.0 Stereo. The title is already available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon with a $21.99 price tag. Worth noting, Amazon and other retailers may be getting this in December however retailer Best Buy is getting this as an EXCLUSIVE for THREE MONTHS starting on September 27th. That’s next Tuesday. F.Y.I. It’s also worth noting that on September 23rd the concert itself will air on the cable TV channel VH1.  DreamWorks (distributed by Paramount) has plans to bring the “DreamWorks Dragons: Gift Of The Night Fury / Book Of Dragons” Double-Feature to Blu-ray Disc on November 15th. Tech specs for the release include full 1080p Hi-Def video and Dolby TrueHD 7.1 sound. The title is already available for PRE-ORDER over at Amazon with a $17.99 price tag. The contents and bonus materials set to be included on the release are rather lengthy so they are listed below after the break. |
