I think it is almost impossible for me to sale those unwanted BDs. I don't like trouble to post WTS and contact interested buyers and pack/send the goods and receive money. I am lazy... wink.gif

Some news for Indiana Jones films and E.T.. You can read further news in www.blu-ray.com.

But here is information from The Digital Bits
QUOTE
At last night's L.A. Times/Hero Complex screening of Raiders of the Lost Ark in Los Angeles, director Steven Spielberg confirmed that the Indiana Jones films are "coming soon" to Blu-ray, but only when producer George Lucas is ready. Spielberg would apparently like that to be within 6 months, while Lucas is apparently on more of a 12-month schedule. [Editor's Note: Our industry sources continue to tell us to look for the release in the 2nd half of 2012, as part of Paramount's 100th studio anniversary celebration.] The print that was shown last night was the digital restoration that will be used for the Blu-ray, and it apparently looks terrific. Spielberg reportedly made a point of noting that nothing has been tampered with in the film and there's no added dialogue, which drew some laughs from the crowd for obvious reasons. It's not yet decided if the set will include all four films in the series or just the unreleased trilogy. Star Harrison Ford was also on hand at the event as a guest and said he'd be up for doing a 5th Indy film as long as his character "isn't going to Mars" (which drew more laughs as you can imagine). Talks for a sequel are apparently under way.

Spielberg also confirmed again that E.T. is coming to Blu-ray from Universal in 2012, but likely only the original theatrical cut. He asked the audience if they'd care if the "new" version wasn't on the Blu-ray, which generated a big "NO!" Spielberg acknowledged this and said he regrets making the changes he did for the DVD.

Which to choose!

I like Thor 3D slipcover edition, but I also damn like the Japan Thor Steelbook edition! Headache !!!

Internet image: (1st is 2D edition, 2nd is BestBuy 2D exclusive, 3rd is 3D edition)

Below this is Japan Steelbook Edition (not out yet)

Go for 2D version. If Japanese version is 2D, go for it.

Here is conclusion for Thor 3D given by Highdefdigest.

QUOTE
'Thor' rocked my socks and kept me entertained the entire ride through with its great mix of action, mythology, intelligence and humor. The 2D release wowed me with its amazing visuals. The 3D version, though, was a painful viewing experience. Painful. It's all sorts of wrong, with errors popping up more frequently than is acceptable, leaving me with much lowered anticipation for the 3D release of 'Captain America' next month. 3DTV owners hard up for content should dish out the five to ten dollar surcharge on this edition, since they will still get the vastly superior 2D version of the film. 2D owners who haven't made the leap? Save your money. Even if this is a combo, unless you're jumping in the next one to two months, I don't see this one paying off. Stick with the 2D.

Fortunately, I chose 2D version but Amazon combined my Thor with Star Wars. So, until now still not yet dispatch. Haiz... hopefully this few days Thor 2D will price drop. tongue.gif

I don't have 3DTV also, haha, just the 3D slipcover look damn nice. It include 2D inside.

Anyway, I think i probably go for Japan Steelbook Edition.

* Thanks for highlight awful 3D of it. Can't believe it is that bad!
*
That is becuase this film was not film in native 3D. 3D conversion is done in post production. Several recent movie also done like that and effect really dissappointed. For now, only buy those shoot in native 3D and avoid 3D post production conversion.

Oh, I though Thor is native 3D, my wrong then.

Now I am wonder how it look like for below two old film in 3D, already spread news will doing it:

  • Titanic 3D
  • Top Gun 3D

I will only go for 2D for now. For 3D, unless it is shoot in native 3D and 3D version is really cheap, otherwise, I will skip it.

Hi guys, do u guys know any difference between the bluray that i bought from local video stores (speedy) and from Amazon ?? Quality difference ?
Appreciate it very much !!
*
For my understanding, the answer could be Yes and No. It depend on distributor. Since Amazon (I assume you mean Amazon US) is from US and Speedy is in Malaysia, distributors maybe same for some movies and different for other movies. Their may use same source for Blu-ray and may also use different source for their Blu-ray. Or Asia/US version may have some cut where other region have other cut scenes or not cut at all. tongue.gif

Confused? laugh.gif

If you want to know different for movies that you are interested, do homework by searching inform in internet. Page 1 of this thread very helpful. nod.gif

Every BD in different region may or may not different from other regions. It really need to do research cause there is not standard for what their can or cannot do. So, sometime it is quite troublesome for finding such information.

Anyway, here is another site where you can find some information between different region or different version. movie-censorship.com
