BANS OF BROTHER was based on 1 novel, whereby PACIFIC was adapted from more than 1 novel, hence u will feel the individual stories is not related. I felt PACIFIC moved too slow at the begining & did not end well at the end. when it reached large scale battle near end season, i felt it is not enough & too short.

i personnelly like BAND OF BROTHER a lot more than PACIFIC, for BLUERAY PICTURE , PACIFIC score higher, i did enjoy the (.)(.) a lot.

but if for (.)(.), SPARCATUS:BLOOD AND SEX is way better

i have tried most of my STARWARS disc, i noticed all sounds near perfect, very active 6.1 channel, a must for sound lover. pic wise, i particularly like episode 3 to 6. 1 & 2 too soft & looks to digital.

i have revisiited PIRATE OF CARRIBEAN TRILOGY again, all with LINEAR PCM SOUND, all sound very good, this is a trilogy worth repeat viewing.

AMAZON UK has some good discount now.

last night i watched SCAREFACE via projector, it looks really nice. it also sounds great. highly recommended.

AMAZON CANADA shipping is very difficult to predict, buyer also be careful on the packing too, some times the actual product is dif with the bluray.com display.

However the bright side is they will not cancel your order if they have no stock. AMZ CANADA will honour your deal even it take 3 to 4 months.

last night i also order LOTR EE for a friend with few more title for my self, it state it only be ship by end of november, BUT THE $ IS TOO GOOD TO LET GO.

some sharing on the HONG KONG BLURAY -

my friend just came back from HONG KONG & bought me few bluray disc, would like to share some info (for those interested):

$ - basically ranging from HK$100 (RM45) to HK$250 (RM100), depends on what studio release, UNIVERSE is the cheapest, MEDIA ASIA & FORTUNE STAR are at mid range, overall average is about RM60 per disc.

packing - not much of slipcover available, out of the 13 titles i got, only 1 came with slipcover - AFTERSHOCK. HOWEVER, all blu keepcase are very solid & in perfect condition, not like the US recycle one which felt very fragile.

PIC quality - i haven't tried any of it yet, but from the BLURAY.COM review, seems like ranging from 4 star to 3 star, it vary on titles. my last purchase all with solid picture quality.

SOUND - all of it came with HD sound at 7.1 channel, either LINEAR PCM or DTS-HD or DOLBY-TRUE HD

SPECIAL FEATURE - not much, some title came with making, some none.

i got AVATAR Extended couple months ago, lukily still got slipcover.

AMAZON CRITERION sales got some good title not to be missed.

most of it HONG KONG made old chinese movie, etc. drama, love story, gangster & thriller.

I didn't buy WU XIA because not yet watch & no review yet.

I tested most of it last night, most looks good except LOVE ON A DIET, from a very dated sorce print with no remastered.

my friend went there under company trip for business, so can't really tell when he is going again.

I AM GONNA TO BUY FEW CRITERION SALES - HIGH & LOW, DARJEELING LIMITED

i own the US VERSION of STANLEY KUBRICK collection, actually the packing is very nice looking, it also come with a nice booklet with hard cover.

However, the packing is not pratical & user friendly, unlike STARWARS & SPARCATUS BLOOD & SAND, STANLEY KUBRICK SET is very difficult to pull out the disc.

What i do is i take out all disc & keep it separately in a CD file, display net to the box set.

It is not logic to miss 2 film, forget about the $, don't go for AMAZ UK version.

yup, it is a lot more difficult than SPARCATUS.

besides, after few time of oulling it out & pushing it back, the paper made bookcase also starting to loose 7 might get broken soon. so, it actually "looks" better than "use"

with the AMZ US/CANADA boxset & add 2 more CRITERION COLLECTION - PATH OF GLORY & THE KILLING, u actually can own STANLEY KUBRICK LIFE TIME WORK.
