Any doctorate (D.BA= Doctor in Business Admin) requires research. The difference between Ph.D in business with D.BA is that, generally, DBA is more application oriented whereas Ph.D is much more on the theoretical side.A glimpse on wikipedia suggests that most uni in malaysia offer this programme.
