My field is science. I don't think i want to apply for lectureship right now because I plan to work abroad after finishing my postdoc. Isn't it hard to get lectureship? I tried to apply from my previous university but the administration said it would take 6 months for application process.
i think Mr.dupe may be right. If you aim to work abroad and posdoc is a requirement, then you may skip the local lectureship opportunity.
Since my field is social science, I think I couldn't advise you further, except the fact that i worked in higher education before and saw some KPIs set across the faculties.
I believe postdoc will help you to garner more publications under your name. The trend in the university setting now is more to research output, and you should be able to secure a good position based on that even if you have zero teaching experience.
Also, I notice more adjunct positions at the higher education, especially abroad. So if you're offered a permanent position, I think that is golden.
All the best and report your result here to share your joy with us ok? =)
