Bro, thats why i said u need to do more research on cars. There are various articles on VSC on the net. Please read them and understand how VSC works. Only then can you appreciate it. Use the internet to learn the importance of VSC rather than look for excuses to show that it isnt important.

VSC not some miracle tool that can read your mind u know. It only reacts when the sensors pick up loss of traction in the tyres usually before the driver realises himself. VSC is not a tool to overcome an intentional action of the driver.

precisely it is not a miracle tool. i have the facelifted 2.4v and mine comes with vsc and trc which the new models dont have. i have never had an encounter whereby the vsc or trc kicked in, until sometime last year end. it was raining heavily and i took a corner too fast. i could feel the back of my car skidding outwards and i thought oh shit! but then the steering wheel locked itself momentarily and i could feel the loss of power at the same time. the car just stopped skidding and i was able to steer it where I intended the car to go. after that day, i told myself i will make sure the next car has vsc. the other thing to note is that the camry is soft sprung, doesnt give you a good feel where you are turning. it tends to be a bit floaty at times.

Good sharing. Thanks for that. Yes many of us who realise the importance of VSC are pissed off that Toyota decided to remove this essential safety tool for the new Camry while still increasing the price. I still think your Camry version is the better model (looks and spec wise).

Sadly, there are some of us who still fail to acknowledge the importance of VSC. I hope that it doesnt take an accident for them to realise.

Cheers. I hear you. Many years ago people said ABS was a gimmick etc. Well, I can write a long story about my encounter but suffice to say after that all our cars had ABS. Yet, can ABS prevent an accident? Definitely not but it can drastically reduce the chances of it.

Looking back at my ownership experience thus far, I will say that I love my Camry. I think its looks elegant. I enjoy the comfortable ride the car has given me thus far. Moving forward, after seeing what the other brands have to offer and also the cost cutting UMW has in-place (even with my model - some cheap plastics here and there, I definitely will think twice before I go for a Japanese car in the near future. Even my Camry has had some warranty swaps here and there, so no... Toyotas are not trouble free.

At the current asking price, I concur the new car is a rip-off. Current owners, you already bought yours, just enjoy it. However, that wont stop us from criticizing where necessary. I am sure you would, if we reverse shoes.

Its about value for money which is a concept you still dont quite understand or agree with. But no matter. Uve already bought the Camry and if ure happy then stick to it.
i think its more about being reasonable. the new camry is a very bare car. kepalapening, you have your reasons for buying it, enjoy the car.

No thats not what he meant. Ure obviously not reading and understanding correctly. Cannot afford a car with VSC and not realising the importance of VSC are 2 totally different things.

We are not talking about affordability here. This is a thread about the Camry. If someone can pay between 150-181K for a car, affordability is not an issue. Even the Proton Preve has got VSC and it only costs RM72K+.

some people wont get it, i suppose, asking you to get a preve instead. the point here is that it should be included. they had it in the previous gen. it should also be made compulsory for new cars, like it is the case in certain countries.

i think we should just pass a law that will make vsc or its equivalent compulsory for new cars coming to the market. it already is in the EU, if im not mistaken. while it cant 100% prevent an accident it is proven to reduce the chances of it, which matters. not many will be bashing the new camry if it still came with trc and vsc. the price went up, yes of course there are a couple of new things here and there. the remaining will only bash on its looks, which is subjective. even the new city and civic has vsc (they call it vsa) as standard, even the preve.

So, wait till M'sian gov ...

I think we cant wait, given how our government works. If we wait, it will never happen. We need to push for it to happen. We start by creating awareness and getting people influential in the industry like Paultan to help push for it. Hopefully, someday such a bill gets passed. We need to make sure car makers no longer take us for granted.

Seats are slightly thinner than the previous gen Camry. Interior materials are better than previous gen for sure, but okay only. Actually, in this price range nowadays, quality you get is average only. Pick up was excellent? doh.gif That engine was a joke even with the previous generation Camry, unless of course you have only driven slower cars in your life. Sound insulation is Camry's forte in this class and I was told the new gen was supposed to be quieter. The handling is def better than the previous gen, I have also driven the new one and compared to the prev gen it is better, but not to the quantum you are describing it to be. A Camry being planted thru corners? Seriously? You got to be kidding me. Its not a BMW or an Alfa or even a Porsche. You want to get in and keep driving it? Please do.

And the price is also not more than 200k right.

1. the reverse camera is there to help, how do you find it?
2. even prev gen camry (2.0 or 2.4) can do that. even higher speed cabin noise is pretty low. camry's insulation is good, compared to say the accord.
3. yes, depending on the model. if you want a new car comparison you can take the passat or 508.
