hi guys,

any possibility the conceal copper piping leak?

My bedroom 1HP ac is not cold after 2-3 weeks pump in the coolant gas.
Ask the Pana service men come check, they keep say it could be the piping leak... Is that normally for new AC set their condenser/compressor piping wont leak?

How to detect the conceal piping leak?

The balance air cond piping not used will have ugly piping and wires dangling from the wall. rclxub.gif

Best is leave it as it is. Bending the copper pipe few time will damage it. I had this problem where one pipe was near the floor (outdoor), it was move few time for painting and cleaning. End up I have to cut entire pipe hack bit and resolder a new pipe because it was bend too bad.

Make sure your outdoor A/C pipe is facing downward, or have a plastic bag cover it. The black thermal wrap can guide water into your room / living room (Copper pipe can too if its not seal). This happen to me when the a/c was not install. My floor in living room and bed room above the a/c pipe was wet. Scare the hell out of me, initially though it was roof leaking. Later found out the a/c pipe guide the rain water in. I cover it with plastic bag, problem solve... icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi all

When concealing, is it a good practice to keep the copper pipe and electrical cable apart from each other ?

1 thing I don't understand is, for old practice, I see they separate the return hot gas copper pipe from the insulate cold gas copper pipe. For logic, it is correct way.

But nowaday, the hot and the cold copper pipe is insulate together. The hot gas pipe is insulate for what? It should disipate the heat out not to insulate the heat. I try to ask them, but can't give me the answer.

I have heard from someone that it is best practice to separate the electrical wire from the copper pipe.

Thus it is better to have two separate tracks instead of one. Nevertheless all the contractors are putting all of them together of the same track.

Guys,
My new condo already have the A/C piping in place, done by my contractor. This include all the conceal & plastering work.
Now, the question is, if i buy the aircond, can i get cheaper installation charge? because normally, the installation cost will include some minimal piping e.g 10 feet.
Normally they said the 10 ft piping is free that come with the installation.

Mine is also 2.5mm cable. My price should be fair I guess. Your 380 includes what? Hacking, piping, wire, installation?
