Can anyone PM me a good aircon contractor to do the following:

1) Relocate 2 aircons (need to dismantle from one place and install at another place)

2) Install a new aircon

3) Service 3 old aircons

And is around PJ area.

Thanks.

For Daikin, inverter, R410A gas.
My aircond contractor quoted me the following.

To lay copper pipe and water drain pipe, WITHOUT conceal into wall:

1hp @ RM 500 x 3 = RM 1500
2hp @ RM 570 x 3 = RM 1710

Installation only,
RM 200 x 6 = RM 1200

TOTAL: RM 4410

Is the price reasonable? It's a double-storey house.

what is recommended distance ie 1hp ~10ft .. if 1.5? 2.0?
can anyone share ..
*
U need to check ur A/C manual, it varies for different brand and hp.
Usually for 1hp and 1.5hp, maximum distance is 15m and maximum height difference 10m.
But Daikin is further.

My contractor told me no need to do piping first for back to back installation. He said the aircond people will do the piping together during installation and this can be done easily. Is it true?

Back to back yes.
Not need.
Unless you want it 100% fully concealed.
If install aircon back to back, the compressor might put at lower side but the aircon put at the top. so you would see the "black" piping probably 4-5 feets.

My contractor did this to me for pipe > 10 feet.
RM600 1.0 HP inverter pipe + water outlet pipe. Fully conceal both copper and outlet pipe.
Inverter copper pipe is thicker, so it is more expensive than conventional aircon.

Thanks for the reply. I would not do the conceal at the house design already have a drainage system right behind the house.
However, how the Air cond. guy connect the compressor to the aircon inside? They still need to drill a hole to connect
the air con with compressor right?

Of course, they need to drill the hole (4 holes to install the screw nut bolt) to install the compressor. Although, it's back to back.

Dear Forumers,

Just wanna ask, I just got my house keys and was thinking about installing air-cond in the living room. Also, I'm planning to do a plaster ceiling in the living room. What should I do first, make concealed aircond piping first, then install plaster ceiling? Or aircond/piping can be done later?

All hacking need to be done before plaster ceiling.

You need to plan well, don't conceal too low or too high. Experience AC installer will know the height when you tell him your estimate ceiling height (plaster ceiling)

Hi Weikee,

The piping can be done first and Aircond installation can be done later once plaster ceiling is done, is my understanding correct?

Thanks.

Yes.

You need to know what A/C are you using, Non-Inverter? Inverter? And the brand of inverter because some inverter use thicker copper than other, some use 4 wires, some use 5 wires.
