Yes, yes, I did RTFM ... but anyone who owns a unit would know wat the FM looks like & wat kinda info is in there ... Anyway, just thought I'd try getting some helpful soul on the forums to guide me ;-)

My orig questions were:



1. the screen kind of changes from bright to dim, by itself every now & then. i thought it was something to do with the light sensor > maybe when my hand blocks the light sensor, the screen gets dimmer? anyone else experience this?

2. How to do the personalisation on the opening screen ... where is says This phone belongs to ....? I've looked thru all the settings, etc, cannot find that.

3. Although my time is set correctly (I can see the correct time at the top right corner) ... but in the World Clock, if I set one for KL, I get the wrong time. Why?

4. I also got a 16GB SD Card new from the same shop ... but when I try to read the card in my PC via the SD adaptor, I get a mesg saying the card is not formatted. Neither can I format the card on the PC.

5. I then tried to connect the Tab to my laptop. Again I get an error saying cannot connect. What am I doing wrong?

1. That's auto sensor in the works.  You're correct the small hole top right ish is the sensor. Go manual if you hate it.

2. Hm.. i've never found that as well.. never bothered about it in any case

3. did you check setting -> date and time. Set to auto.

4. Setting -> SD card and device storage.

5. Same as previous post mentioned.. or try Press and hold both Power + Vol_Down button. It will reboot into download mode.

Hello.    Anyone knows how much ROM does the Tab has? I looked everywhere but I just couldn't find the answer. Some said 512mb, some said 2GB, even see website said 16GB before. 

Icarus has been good to me so far .. manage to squeeze 26 hours from the tab

if put pn standby mode sure can last for days    

There is nothing wrong with the stock dxjpe. It must be something you have installed after flash that is killing it.  It's usually some taskiller app which is the problem.

I'm using dip's rom and kernel at the moment and it's good. The installation steps are on his thread's first page, at the bottom. I'm pasting it below:
Installation

(before you install make a backup of data titanium).

Standart - JQ1/ZUJP8/DXJPD/DXJPE
Custom rom - example overcome

0. (Backup app/data - titanium)

1. Install standart firmware JQ1 or ZUJP8 or DXJPD or DXJPE (here http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-p1000.htm)

2. Install my kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...62&postcount=2 for root and ClockworkMod Recovery.

3. Install my custom firmware (GT-P1000_DXJPE_by_DiP7_v2.2.3)
(ClockworkMod Recovery -> install zip from sdcard -> choose zip from sdcard).
Since you're already on stock DXJPD, use odin to flash dip's kernel . Download and use the TAR version ie click the "PDA" section and select the Tar file. And click Start.
To flash the rom, go into recovery mode etc.

If you don't know how to use odin app and recovery to flash kernels/roms ,you'll need to go to youtube to find some video tutorial.

Guys,can you backup the IMEI of the SGT like the SGS?
I'm asking because i want to reserve the warranty while playing with custom ROMs

One more thing,let's say if i follow the instruction to recover from a soft brick from here will the IMEI stay the same as original?

Hi all, new user of Galaxy Tab reporting in...just get it today after sign up for the Digi Smart Plan...

i might interested to get 1. At first i thought Digi has drop galaxy tab from digi smart plan

having some bad time with icarus again ... i think is abt time to change back stock rom ...

1. BT issue. when bt pair or connected with tab, i can't discover the device anymore.
2. Frequent No signal on GMS (can't make call) and Frequent internet connection drop. (can make call but can't connect internet). (need reboot)
3. Battery drain too fast. (this is third day already).
4. Can't update APP. can download can't install update. (need reboot)
5. Can't charge phone. (i not sure what causing it, sometime it charge but some time it won't), battery gauge show 99% but phone status show 79%.
6. Still very slow on media scan. btw i saw repeated scaning ...
Ok roll back to ori. no more custom rom for my tab.

so u will revert back to froyo then. must be yr tab totally not ngam with icarus.
me hermes very gud for me. media scan very fast and screen movement very fast.
still dont y icarus media scan damn slow.
