QUOTE(KukuBird @ Jul 7 2011, 05:52 PM) i just inserted my microsd and my phone cannlankot read it, shown there blank card and i format it still the same. my phone become hotter at the back, when i take it out, the card damn hot. i put in card adaptor also same thing happen. is it card problem or setting? You try and see if your card can be use on PC? Try copy something into and out of the card, if cannot then try full format in FAT32 and try in your phone again...This post has been edited by xyz_cityhunter: Jul 7 2011, 06:31 PM |

QUOTE(iori57 @ Jul 7 2011, 07:46 PM) What software you use to test the speed? btw mine is class 4 so sure lose to yours CrystalDiscMark... =)Also do you have any program to recommend that can chop video files into small segments, without needing to convert? Coz format factory can split videos but u sure need to convert... which takes very long time I mean for the speed testing... This post has been edited by xyz_cityhunter: Jul 7 2011, 07:59 PM |

QUOTE(KukuBird @ Jul 7 2011, 08:23 PM) I tried, but there is no FAT32 to select. only FAT, when it is about to finish, then fail to format. What brand? And if you're using MicroSD to SD adapter, be sure it's not in LOCK mode (Note the side of the adapter)...zzz, the card get very hot everytime i plug in adaptor. anyone know the reason? or i should take to waranty? Fail to finish format? Try the H2Testw and put the size to full and run the test and see... EDIT: Or maybe the adapter problem, get a MicroSD reader, don't use the adapter, if it still fails then get it back to change a new one... QUOTE(xsaintzx @ Jul 8 2011, 11:01 AM) Thanks a bunch for the feedback. I think read speed for all MicroSD cards are almost the same, average 20Mbps...I'm considering the DNA class 10 or Sandisk class 4. Though I don't have a good history with Sandisk cards in terms of speed, they are always error free. I am leaning towards more to Sandisk class 4 32GB now. Btw, the card you bought from the Lelong seller does it comes with the red color retail packaging? Do you save your videos/photos in the card and when you open the gallery it is instant load of thumbnail or it takes few seconds? My guess it takes few seconds as the read speed is not so fast? Last time i tested 1Gb class 2(Kingston), 2GB class 2(Kingston), 4GB class 4(Sandisk) and 8GB class 4(Toshiba)... all the read speed is around 20Mbps+... QUOTE(mydragoon @ Jul 8 2011, 11:13 AM) curious to know how is the write speed... quite sure will be taking lots of photos and videos on sgs2... dun want write to card to be the bottleneck... Depending on your files, if multiple picture files then it will be slow as there's a short interval after each successful writing, for memory data transfer checking like the CRC... So if you compare transfer of 1GB of 1 video file and 1GB of a folder full of pics then the later one will take more time... EDIT: Sry, kinda misunderstood ur question... So for a summary, if your taking a picture and the directory for saving your picture is the MicroSD then there might be some brief lag if your card is class 2. But i'm didn't really own a SGS2 yet so i'm not sure how the data transfer undergone there so if you want to try and see if got any problem for the write speed then try taking a 1080p video. From my assumption, the raw data will 1st be stored in RAM then only will be stored somewhere in internal or external memory after ending the shoot... QUOTE(xsaintzx @ Jul 8 2011, 11:45 AM) I see, thanks for your reply. How large is the video file? And also the length of the video?Did you try recording 1080p video directly to the MicroSD card, to test about the writing speed is able to catch up with the recording or not. I bought a SanDisk Class4 16GB for my GF's Samsung Galaxy SL, when she records 720p the video appears to be choppy, not serious but it stuck for 1 second after each 10 seconds intervals during playback. Transferred to PC and it is still stuttering on every 10s interval. Not sure it is the phone capability issue or the card. This post has been edited by xyz_cityhunter: Jul 8 2011, 11:54 AM |

Lol, one of my friend in SG went to JB to get the SGS2 from Maxis Roadshow. He said that he's the 1st to queue there at 5:30AM, he don't want to be the 1st to buy so he waited... until 8:30AM then only came the 2nd person...

QUOTE(Norazam @ Jul 9 2011, 04:25 PM) can someone post a screenshot for mircosd write/read speed using Sdtools from android market? I just want to see the difference between class. Tq Just to share from my experience, for most card the read speed would average around 20Mbps or more for all class ranging from 1 to 10, but some China brand class 1 would even have read speed of only 10Mbps...While the write speed can be judge from the class type, class 2=2Mbps, class 4=4Mbps and class10=10Mbps of writing speed. But sometimes the write speed do depend on the files that's you're copying, like a larger video file compare to a bunch of pics of the same size, the pics copying would be slower than the 1 video file copying time. |
