Hello everyone, just joined the club for about a week. Bought a M200-E412 came loaded with Vista home basic.

1 thing I must say... Vista is kind of slow and loads too many stuffs. And the worst thing.... my outlook 2003 couldn't run. Checked the internet and noticed that many people face this problem. Anyway its Microsoft's issue.

I think Toshiba notebook rocks but should have let consumers have choices on their preferred softwares.

Cheers.

Added on September 25, 2007, 9:29 pmOh ya, i'm thinking of downgrading the Vista to XP Pro but not sure whether is there any compatibility issues with any hardware drivers. Anyone knows?

Thanks.

Thanks Eddy!

I might just try to downgrade and see. The M200's config should perform real good with XP.

Since all of us are Toshiba users here, I'm just wondering do you have the same feeling as I do.

I got a A200 recently and it came with Vista Home Basic and pre-loaded with MS office 2007 trial. I didn't want to waste money on new MS office so uninstall the 2007 and re-install my ori MS office 2003 Small Business Edition. Outlook 2003 failed to load due to error.... after checking found out that its most likely due to the trial 2007 version having different dlls that are unusable by version 2003.

Then i can't help noticing the time the notebook needed to boot and shutdown is longer than what I used to be having when I'm using my IBM R60 loaded with XP...eventhough now having a faster CPU, productivity seems going negative.

I know both are microsoft related issues... but why a notebook manufacturer like toshiba can't just provide a real powerful tool that come with good and stable software? Is this only me?

who can deny that vista is the future ... but anyway ... the hardwares r getting better too these days so with better hardwares and more tweaks on the way ... vista is the only way to go within these few years ...

hahaha ...

i would upgrade to vista when

thumbup.gif  the next service pack that is out ...

it sure looks and feel pretty ...

It does look pretty and can't deny that its the future... but it is really a pain to wait for it to be well developed. By the time its stabilized, we see a new OS introduced and pre-loaded.

I did some tweaking as well but still not up to what i have expected. You guys sure have this feeling right?... getting a new notebook has to be better than the older unit.... esp when it comes to processing speed, graphics or display, sound quality etc.

Oh ya, anyone has the problem with the built-in webcam? I find that sometimes my webcam shows that the camera is locked by another program, which i have no idea what has locked it. I suspect probably MSN but how can i find out? Once it's locked, I can use it. rclxub.gif

Just installed the webcam driver. Initially it show "Graph failed to render" when I turn on the camera. I restart again the system, now no more error message. Hope everything is fine now.....

I visited the Toshiba website after seeing your post. They have Toshiba Value Added Package v1.1.3 upgrade for download as well. hmm.gif

I wonder what is in the new upgrades? I just wonder where they keep their documentation for the upgrades?
