just got myself a m300 today at pc fair, posting with it now

s411, well to be honest the thing i like the most is the design and the white lights around the keypad areas. Spec wise i would say Asus F81SE will be the better choice due to the graphic card

there's 2 toshiba stall, one at hall 3 or 4 and another one in Level 3.

Hall 3/4 offer one vacation accomodation stay or the normal accessories (cooler, mouse, laptop lock, etc)

the stall at level 3 offer kingsoft office or some nesh filter and either come with mouse, laptop lock, etc.

i got it from hall 3/4 cos the me and my friend manage to negotiate to get both free accomodation stay and the accessories.

cos i don't wanna spend so much, i'm not so much of a hardcore gamer, only occasionally some dota and etc so i don't think it's worth it.

if you considering the higer spec, go check out asus F81SE. Visit the retailer, their offer is much more attractive than official Asus booth itself. However they do not have the cheaper spec of it so you can only consider the higher specs. The lower spec (t6400) is available at the official booth, i saw it on display in all white casing.

i was offered 7 freebie items + upgrade to 4gb ram + a backpack for Rm3788. P8600 + 4570 should be more than enough to handle your gaming needs. It was attractive but as i said, i don't think i need such a good spec lappie to suit my needs.

Not forgetting Asus offer 2 years global warranty while Toshiba is 1 year international + 1 year local warranty.

I would go for Asus if i'm in your situation

s411's greyish black casing + white light

i bet your dad will have problem reading the wording on keybad with dv3. i look at it at some angle and it's almost all darkness on the keypad. Worse still is the blue light they use on the speaker touchpad (i think, juz briefly look at it as it's crowded) on the bronze body. Just doesn't fit IMHO.

well wait til u see the real unit, i was so certain that im gonna get dv3 until i walk around for 4 hours wondering btw f81, m300 and dv3 b4 finally deciding to get m300

but ya, the built quality of toshiba is more solid, the speaker is awesome. perhaps the best laptop speaker i've ever heard

i notice the heat is coming out from the left side but most of the cooler has fan on the bottom part of the laptop which makes me wonder will there be much differences if i use it?

i tried out the cooler thing given by the seller, when i didn't use any coller it's about 47 and it's now 40 if i use the cooler. not bad for something that is free

ahh not much difference then, i got ext hdd

plastic, given as free gift. doubt i will wanna spend RM100 on a alu cooler for the sakes of few degrees.

yes 3 fan. i saw someone selling in garage sales for Rm35.

can refer back to last few pages, a member using zalman claiming that it only decrease about 8 degrees. Which isn't worth buying imho
