between toshiba satellite M100-2011E and A100-2212E ... which 1 better ? the price not much diff only .. why ar ? anyone can explain to me what is the diff of FSB 533 Mhz and 667Mhz ?

I got the exact same dilemma as you when I buying laptop that time. Ended up took the 2011E. Why? Because it's smaller in size and technically faster. 15 inch laptop really big to me le. Coz I need to carry my laptop around.

But that just me laugh.gif .

I guess you have to install back the "Funtion key" driver back. Best to get those driver from a Toshiba laptop that is running on Home XP.

Hope this help.

Guys, I'm using the M100-2011E model since March 2007. I on my laptop most of the time, 1 week like off only 5-6 hrs in total, due to traveling.

My question is the laptop nowadays keep auto shutdown since 6 months ago due to overheat, especially running at full load. I understand this can be fixed if I tune down to lower speed (from maximum level 5 to 3) but the speed is just too slow. By using NHC (software), the standby temp is 55-60 degree celcius but easily shoot up to 70 in 3-4 sec if cpu load is 50% or more (multi core processing). Warning pop up at 90 degree and will auto shutdown if passed 95 degree mark.

I think is the thermal paste has worn out, but not too sure about this. Anyone here experienced this? Any place to fix this? Mine still under warranty but going to Tele Dynamic is too far for me (and I believe the laptop will need to be there for few days easily).
