Ugh... my post got eaten by the crash monster so I'll repost. I'm planning on getting a Toshiba Satellite M300 P4332R. Does anyone have any feedback on this model? Any comments will be much appreciated! I was told that it only comes in crimson red. Very interesting color... Went to midvalley hoping to catch a demo unit but couldn't find any. I read somewhere that certain models have strange keyboard layout. How about this model?

QUOTE(night @ Feb 26 2009, 10:55 AM) Dear Prissy, I just gotten that laptop last week. I purchased it during the CNY promotion where the laptop is only priced at RM4699. Upgraded the ram to 4gb because the laptop only comes with 2 gb. It is a great laptop and the keyboard layout is pretty normal to me. If you're still not sure of the layout, the laptop design and layout is the same to every other Toshiba M300. You can check the layout on the internet. Different model just vary in different specs. I must say that the internet have very little information on this model. I've done my research in every possible website you can think of. And I've been to many shops but none sell this model. In the end, I have no regreat purchasing this laptop. If you have any questions regarding this laptop, you may pm me. Thanks for the feedback. Will go order now!

QUOTE(orangejungle @ May 21 2009, 09:19 AM) Helo~ Just few questions over here before I might become one of the new members here I'm aiming the M300 model with the latest processor...I forgot wat it calls...but newer than core 2 duo....with 4GB ram and 320 GB hard disk...do u guys think is reasonable enough with paying RM 3499? Tell me...if ya...i wil get it tomorrow.... Sounds like a M300-D4313. Correct me if I'm wrong I just got a D4316 for RM4199. Only difference is the processor speed. (2.13GHz vs. 2.53GHz). So far it's pretty good but I guess I need more time to test it out as I only had it for less than a week. eugene90: Yeah, I find that mine heats up quite fast even with the laptop cooler. But my cooler is the RM25 cheaplak brand lah. Not sure if a better cooler will help... Maybe pack it on some icepack...

QUOTE(szaku89 @ May 21 2009, 11:22 PM) I am using a USB to cool up my lappie, quite useful. It gets hot especially at the left lower portion. The touchpad sometimes get hot too. Yeah, same here. The lower left gets warmed up quite fast but I found that if I disable the illumination, it's somehow better. My lappy has this lighted "Satellite" logo at the lower left corner, a lighted line above the touchpad and illuminated function buttons at the top of the keyboard. It felt less warm if they are off. Or maybe it's just my imagination. LOL!

I measured the temperature of the air from the output vent. It's about 40C. Does that sound normal? My Dell laptop does not heat up so much.

QUOTE(bearbear @ May 29 2009, 02:53 AM) Thanks for letting me know there are softwares to measure CPU temperature! Never knew it existed until now. Great find! I tried Notebook Hardware Controller. It doesn't work on Vista SP1 Then I tried Speedfan and CoreTemp. Both work well but there is a temp difference of about 6 degrees C. Higher in CoreTemp than Speedfan. And Speedfan measures HD temp whereas CoreTemp doesn't. Currently I'm using speedfan. Unfortunately, the lappy fan is not under it's control. Software couldn't detect any fan...

I have a Toshiba Satellite M300-D4316. I just realize that the scroll function (horizontal and vertical) on my touchpad is not working! Does anyone else have the same problem? Is it something to do with corrupted driver? Where can I download the correct driver? Please help!! I don't want to have to reformat my hard drive to solve it... Edit: Nevermind. Problem solved This post has been edited by Prissy Elf: Jun 12 2009, 03:41 PM

My satellite M300 came with a carrying case. But best check with supplier first. Maybe it's only during certain promotion?

QUOTE(zs3889 @ Nov 20 2009, 06:15 PM) I have a friend, which is a Toshiba laptop user, he told me his laptop get overheated easily even he uses the cooler?? Can anyone clarify this? Now looking forward to Toshiba and Asus. Mine shoots up to 70-75C if I play Facebook games especially those graphic intensive ones. Other times, the temp is between 33-47C. I'm using a cheaplak 3-fan cooler.
