hmm played wif tecra m3, s2 and satellite m50-p345... the tecras wif the nvidias... not really that impressive to me tongue.gif
the m50 does looks attractive

ran far cry on s2 and m50-p345, both @ 512MB, during the first level after opening the door, outdoor/nature scenery wif seas and everything.
tecra=laggy, sea not animated, just pure blue water, while the m50 shows better sea animation and looks nicer and smooth.

the settings i put to auto detect for both to be fair.
mebbe this is a bias game? wahaha and the more vram does make difference?
hmm no acer 5502(ATi x700 64MBvram) for me to test on.
mebbe next time i will test it wif a m40 w go6600128mb vram if i can get my hands on it tongue.gif

neway no screenshots, coz did that @ workplace rolleyes.gif

one thing, satellite A80 shares same housing/case wif tecra S2 laugh.gif

duno why loh, i look @ and feel of the toshibas, even the satellite r10 which is supposedly wif mag case, hdd motion sensor, durability design blablabla.. i dun even dare to lift it up and try to throw it. i did that wif IBMS tongue.gif
toshibas seems so fragile IMO compared to IBMs

cheers. just my spamcents. ^^

p/s again these are just my opinions, based on/after playing wif few numbers and brands of notebooks. don't take it too seriously yah Toshiba fans.

well, the x600 256MB on the toshiba M50 is a Turbocache/SE version.. where the vram is discrete 128MB+128MB from main system memory.
so.. not much difference lo... hahahaha

mobility x600 is equivalent to 9600xt desktop ver
where as Go6600 is equivalent to mobility x700

from notebookreviews

One of the number one questions that shows up on the forums on this site is "is a 128MB X600 faster than a 64MB 6600." No, it's not. While system RAM is the easiest way to boost the performance of a computer, video RAM doesn't work quite the same way. With GPUs, you're going to want a more powerful GPU instead of more video RAM in virtually all cases, with almost no exceptions. On the desktop, a Radeon 9600 with 64MB of video RAM will invariably slaughter a Radeon 9200 with 256MB of video RAM, and that's because the 9600 itself is a more powerful chip.

iianm, bigger vram is usually more advantageous when u runiing the game in higher resolution.. but how high can resolution the normal laptop/notebook LCD can handle? limitations smile.gif

cheers. just my spamcents. lol

I'm planning to buy the Toshiba satelite R10. Can you please advice me on how to get the best price for this tablet. Does anyone know how much is it to upgrade the battery to a 9 or 12 cell one and how much does an extra one cost? Another thing I would like to know is how much would it be to add on a graphic card. I would like a graphic card that would allow me to play most games smoothly with AA and AF.

sattelite r10 comes wif a 6-C battery iianm, upgrade? not sure tho, but mebbe can buy a bigger capacity battery guar, if it does exist prepare 2 pay about rm400 n above tongue.gif
