I love my M100 too ....
Quite satisfied with it ....
Just the plastic casing .....
OVERALL Toshiba is GREAT !!!!
Anyone has complain about it ????

there is an option to silent the noise
but the readin time of the disk would be slower

tested BFME 2 already
manage to play up to ultra high settings ....
but best played smoothly with medium setting ....
not a bad lappie to me M100 .......

For me i dont have this kind of problems ??? did you put your DVD reading into silent mode ...
Silent mode takes longer time ...

Yes silencer will make any CD operation run slower (acoustic)
