those that i worked with aren't that great, and getting greedy. some balik kampung. so, getting hard to find some body good.

I have an Indon worker who is working on my house renovation. He is recommended by a good friend of mine who done her house. So far his workmanship is quite good and the best part is his price!! If you are particular on the tiling workmanship, best that you take a look at the indon's work before you commit. Else, you may regret later after all the tiles are up

Be very careful. Some indons are really bad, I just kena'ed!

Never pays first, and only pays when certain things are done.

I sub'ed my work to an indon intro'ed by someone here. From the talk, he sounded OK. He asked for me to pay for the materials first, I OK'ed. Then, the next day, he started to ask for money to buy more things. I paid a little. 2 days later he asked for more saying that his workers are asking for loan. I really didn't wanna give him any more money, but he sounded desperate, so I gave in.

I was sicked during the whole issue. So, I didn't go oversee the progress for 2 days, the next day I went, I got a shock!! The indons were not there working. I called, he said he was working at Klang, and asked me if someone else wanted to work on that project, I could go ahead!!! I was like, WTF???

i believe there is no (good indo worker), they can be good today, but not confirm tmr. this just my experiance, sometime with same worker, they done a good job for me for this site, but they give me lot of shit at that site.

OK, got the other indon recommended by fellow LYNer.

From the beginning, he is kind of OK. Like every indon does, he will try to borrow money from you. I was shocked that he was asking RM300 on the first day of work. I was reluctant to give. So, today, I said I only have RM200 in my wallet, which was true, and can only give him RM200, plus he has only worked the 2nd day.

Damn guy told me to keep it, he would ask his guys to leave!! WTF? When you sub'ed a project you don't get paid till work is done, I paid for the materials! I guess indons don't do that, that's why you could never get too far!

Luckily his workers are more sensible, and we agreed to pay progressively.

When you can, don't deal with indon directly unless you have one that is really good. Pay slightly more to work with Chinese, I couldn't get any chinese sifu, so no choice. Luckily I met one sifu there, and in the future, I will have a chinese sifu to work together with.

Sorry for my rant...

Good to share your experiences. This is for the knowledge so that lesser people will get into such a situation.
Even some Chinese sifu are also like that. Sometimes they have committed to too many jobs and sometimes they are having too many debts to cover.
Just have to exercise cautions

i know one indon call Yono too ...... wonder how was this two people related or not?

this might be the yono i had and ran away! his work was terrible!! doesn't look like he knew anything about concrete work...

in a way, his ranaway could be good for me, otherwise, more nightmare due to poor workmanship. maybe he already knew that he couldn't handle the work, thus he ran away...

My friend got an Indonesian worker and done his house tile before. He commented that this Indon work is not bad and price is quite cheap. If u interested, I can recommend to u.

By the way, my house is under renovation. Work is do by Indon but supervise by a Chinese.

Actually, I wish to appoint above Indon do my house renovation but he is not free at that time. I want to rush my house renovation because I need to move in asap due to my house owner has sold this house.

irfan is a common indonesian name. post his face, and where he hangs out / stays and you may get a better response.

I wonder if this recommend Indonesian worker is still around. If he is, would you mind PM me his contact? Or anyone else has any recommend Indonesian worker preferably would accept daily rate. I don't mind monitoring their work on a daily basis.

Run up to CNY a lot of them busy painting houses.......no harm asking at your local hardware shop...

i paid him one lump sum, not daily rates
(Lump sum means split into 2 or 3 payments. Initial payment to start him off. A bit more later to buy materials. Then last payment upon completion)

I'm satisfied. I actually thinks he does a very good job for me. But remember he is the boss and not the actual person doing the work. Different workers might turn out differently
