I just got a DT880 (250 Ohm) as a gift and currently it's plugged directly to my dell laptop. Since I'm not really into audio before this I can;t say much about the sound quality, but to me it sounds good. And the volume is loud enough too, I usually listen to music at around 40% volume.

So will buying a DAC or an amp improve the sound quality of my headphone? It sounds okay right now without a dac or an amp, but I don;t mind spending a little more if it could improve the sound quality.

I just got my AKG k7xx a few days ago. Will I benefit from using a DAC?

So far the volume is loud enough but I wonder if the sound will improve if I use a DAC.

I plugged the headphone straight to my PC lol. I'm using a cheap mobo so there's no fancy sound card or anything like that.

So far there is no problem but if using a DAC will improve the sound I don't mind spending some money.
