Techmy, you are looking for American tubes or British/European tubes?
American vs British European? How they sounded?
I only know i'm currently using 2pcs of Mullard CV4010 (M8100) for my Maverick A1.
Sounded sweet for my previous equipment matching, thinking of replacing it to serve my new system pairing to have better high and low extension. (compared to the current Mullard)
Thinking Telefunken? or Western Electric?? How's their sound like?
Sorry, i am Noob in audio. Any suggestion are highly appreciated.

i asked about British/European and American tubes because it'd be cheaper to get American tubes from US while British/European tubes are cheaper from Europe...
since you are using CV4010, i would recommend you try the voskhod rocket 6J1P-EV to get better high low extensions. but the down side is i find that these tubes lose out on the mids, being not as sweet, not as lush. the sound sig becomes more like a SS amp, when i was using it with my LD mkIV.
Your explanation makes me think twice on changing my tubes, lol
i'll try some other alternative tuning to achieve what i want then. Thanks bro.
Ooh... icic.
Then i go try roll other see what's the differences. Wahaha...
EP95 family baby tubes.

after all this talk on tubes, i feel like changing the tube for my cheap cheap hybrid amp dy..

preferable warmer sound signature, any suggestion?
Added on August 8, 2011, 9:19 pmbtw, ive no idea how to differentiate the types of tubes.. can just guess it by the look/size of it..
bro sheenho, what dac / amp you're using for your rig?
Me no experience on tubes too, perhaps you try look at ebay for your matching tubes.
Find high and low for the one that have the appearance that shout: "Come on baby, i'm Hot~!"
That tube should gives you Warmer sound singnature.
