Can anyone recommend an amp to pair with my Vsonic GR07?
*
Get something as neutral as possible, don't really need to coloration to spoil GR07 balance, i will recommend Hippo Cricri+

Hi, anyone recommend me an amp for my AKG K450?

Using with iPod...
*
i believe you are looking at portable set up.

My recommendation will be Govibe Mini Box mkII, improve overall presentation by adding in brightness, so you get better detail and tighter bass in K450.

The HP-P1 is made for

iPod Touch (2nd, 3rd, 4th Generation)
iPod Classic (6th Generation)
iPod Nano (4th, 5th, 6th Generation)
iPhone 4
iPhone 3GS
iPhone 3G

http://www.fostexinternational.com/docs/products/HP-P1.shtml

there is no iphone 5 on the list

If you want multi function, get the latest Sony PHA-1, a much better deal IMO, it can use as Apple line out DAC (You can use Lightning to USB, or a convertor) and PC usb dac for home desktop set up.

Hi hi, need help here. Just wondering if my upcoming Audio Technica PRO500MK2 needs an amp for it?

Source: HTC ONE X (Phone)/ PC
Equipment: Audio Technica PRO500MK2
Requirement: Basic/mini amp
Budget: better if it's below rm200

Thx a lot guys
*
Technicallly you don't require amp for Pro500MK2, however with decent amp added in, the improvement is there without a doubt.
Fiio E11 will be my recommendation for budget amp with great improvement, try them before making any decision.

Wanna ask if how does cricri+ impact on the UM2??
*
Hippo cricri+ able to improve the detail and neutrality of Westone UM2.

Use OTG cable and install certain music playing software, and you can support 24 bits DAC line out form your Nexus 4.

Hello, I'm still an amateur audiophile here and currently a proud owner of a grado sr325is and akg k701. 80% of the time i listen music from my pc via Asus Essence STX sound card.

i just received my hifiman he-500 and found that the music that came out sounds 'anemic' and lacks the energy even though the bass is definitely awesome.

i read through some audiophile forums on the internet that even though hifiman he500 is easier to drive, it still needs a dedicated amp while some other forums say that any amp would do great.

for the time being im considering of getting a dedicated amp and using my essence stx as the DAC but it's no use to get an amp just to make it sound louder.

my budget is around 800 (probably up to rm1000 if its really worth it)

any help/ ideas?
*
The amp you are getting, it can be a good improvement to your K701 too, thus, it will not only affect your HE500, are you looking at desktop or portable?

Hi all senior here, need some advise on what to go for

Source : laptop (foobar)
Equipment : Edifier C3
Requirement : improve the sound quality, ( no idea what to buy first )
Budget : 100-300, max 500

I recently changed the original wire to some thicker 12G wire. Hope to gain some knowledge here. Should I get a DAC or Amp soon?

thanks for reading and hope can help me
*
I will recommend DAC for first option, Fiio E07k is a great option.

Anyone ever tried the e09k+e17 combo? Is it a significant upgrade from jus an e17? If yes I'll get the e17 first and save up for e09k. If no, any desktop dac+amp recommendation for ad900x?
*
Decide whether you are going for portable or desktop, AD900x don't require powerful amplifier, well most of AT's doesn't require a powerful amp.
A single E17 can accomplish the job in my opinion.

Sonic Gear Blue Thunder I
Sennheiser PX 100-II

Hi every one,

Need some advise for a sound card here, actually my ass a bit itchy  tongue.gif  and want to make some improvement for my old Edifier C3 2.1 speakers.

i Currently using Mobo : Gigabyte EP45-UD3R, Realtek onboard sound card :

Desktop PC : Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Realtek ALC889A codec
High Definition Audio
2/4/5.1/7.1-channel
Support for S/PDIF In/Out
Support for CD In

65% for Movie, especially for the action movie which contain a lot of boom scene.  laugh.gif
25% for Music, MP3 320kbps song, mostly K-Pop song.
10% Game, Dota 2 and some other game like Resident Evil 5/6.

1) Asus Xonar DX
2) CREATIVE SOUND BLASTER X-FI XTREME AUDIO PCI SOUND CARD (SB0790)
2) Creative Audigy2 ZS

Don't know which one to choose  rclxub.gif But the way, is the difference will be large with these sound cards for my Edifier C3 or just slightly improve?
*
I always have a fond on Asus series, don't ask me why =)

hmm, from PC digital signal = 100% clean, right?

Then DAC convert to analog becomes not so clean if not good DAC?

Of course I understand some tracks even claim to be "LOSELESS", after some comparison it may not be, or even lose to MP3, source is kinda tricky though, coz we may not know the processes gone thorough to come out as "SOURCE"

I think DAC/AMP = money sucker
and SPEAKERS/HEADPHONES = money worth value
*
Not really, if you have higher end/sensitive headphone, crappy source will be revealed so much at those headphones you are using.
So you need to balance amplifier and headphone for higher end game, sometimes DAC/AMP might cost even more expensive than the headphone, if you are going for full potential sound quality.

I wanna jump in deeper, 1K budget XD,

JDS Labs ODAC + O2

OK ah?
*
JDS Labs is always a good brand, why not you try out Centrance, currently hottest in US market for their high quality packet USB DAC/AMP combo.
