2nd the sticky. TS, you can add this link to your 1st post. I think it's really helpful.

Portable amp roundup! 56 portable amps reviewed and compared (Skylab @ Head-fi)

^

as mentioned, also you may want to add some format guidelines, or other additional information to the first/2nd posts etc. can request mod to cleanup/delete posts if you need more posts spacing (like deleting the 2nd post for example)

can probably refer to the other already stickied threads for info.

i have also reported this thread for mods to sticky.

thats the case for most low/mid range audio technica headphones, since they are easily driven. with an amp however, it will definitely improve what the headphones can do, or if anything, add in coloration that my compliment the headphones.

example for my case:
AD900 weak in bass
govibe peak bass is rather colored, and pretty strong

paired up = really really well rounded headphone. smile.gif

oh yea to add in, perhaps you may want to change the category tagging, as amplifiers can be used on pretty much any audio equipment, and not just headphones.

I do have a basic speakers setup that I use for music and movies but it's hard to listen / enjoy cause there is noise around the house and I can't pump up the volume late at night.

Similar as in running off USB? No power supply? Look at offerings from Hippo and GoVibe although I think the LX is hard to beat.

what hongrui said, and from my experience, you're probably better off with software based DAC (like ASIO) that is free until you're ready to bite the bullet on the centrance.

With my traveling around, watching backlogs of movies and TV shows through hotel HDTV is my only solace these days. Better than watching French/German/Japanese tv show offerings. tongue.gif

As for home speakers, I don't have the luxury of space for it. I do have an Onkyo HT 5.1 speakers/subs set up for my movie watching. I like the freedom I get from listening on headphones than blasting speakers in the middle of the night at the risk of angry neighbors.

aww would love to have the opportunity for that tongue.gif
