im a lil bit confused..
what does it mean by integrated Class A amp?
meaning DACport is DAC + AMP?
it doesn't need to pair with other amp?
*
It just means it does not just function as a standalone DAC, it has a amplifier rated class A, so you don't need to slap on an additional amplifier. biggrin.gif (I'll leave the technical bits and parts for someone else to explain tongue.gif)

Oh? Tested the Jade series bro?

Review for the newly released Hifiman HM-101, costing a mere 39USD. Some looking for USB-DACs below RM150 might be interested in this. smile.gif

i think some tax here and there+ distro profits will make it pass the RM100 mark definitely
*
Oh even the price alone passes the RM100 mark, since it's 40USD and current exchange rates go between MYR3.1~3.2 per USD. smile.gif Shipping from Head-Direct should be around 15USD I reckon, so in total it oughta breach RM150 shipped. No taxes for this by the way(below RM500 in value, plus it should rightfully be declared as a computer related device). Not sure how this works out for commercial purchases meant for sales though.

Thanks bro, really help narrow it down. Now looking @ Uber Muzik, Nuforce, or Pico sweat.gif . Recently saw this Meier Audio CORDA 2STEPDANCE amp, wondering any opinion on this awesome looking amp, thanks cool.gif
*
The 2Stepdance amp is a pretty good and solid sounding portable amp, with a fairly flexible 'upgradable' power option when you hook it up to a higher voltage power source (eg 15v Energizer Battery Pack). However, the caveat is it does not come with a DAC.

ADD: Dang I was late.

iBasso D0 supports 24bit? The wolfson chip does support 24bit but the PCM2706 will it limit the resolution?
*
Yeap. PCM2706 only plays up to 16/48...

for pure DAC, if just only for desktop use, i would love to point out Hifiman Express HM101, cheap entry level DAC
but no one bringing that stuff here yet, but again, i guess E10 would do the work betterĀ  hmm.gif
*
TBH I am tempted to grab one for office use, since I can just chuck it in my office drawer. laugh.gif But then again, I already have an iBasso D6 which I could bring to office too. Hmm...

Hi, do you guys heard about Styleaudio DAC/Amp?
currently I planning to get a DAC to replace my onboard sound card  sweat.gif
I am looking into ibasso D10/D12, styleaudio ruby2/topaz
or I should get a pure DAC without amp as I don't need it?
*
It's hard to go wrong with iBasso's product, especially when you can test it out at Jaben to see whether you like it. smile.gif The additional amp section can be considered as a convenience, for example when you cannot bring your (possibly) desktop amplifier with you, unless you're 100% certain that you won't be needing the amp section. Even so, you can just use line-out to utilise the device's DAC section.

hmm.gif
then I will get a ibasso D10 if stock available....
Sorry about a noob question, by changing the opAmp is change the signature of both headphone outĀ  and line out?
*
Only the headphone out, as the line-out bypasses internal amplification for iBasso products. smile.gif Consider the iBasso D12, the successor to the D10, or if you don't need the additional connectivity functions (optical and coaxial), the iBasso D6.

hmm....I need both USB and optical for PC/PS3.
ya, Jaben recommend me ibasso D12 when I visited their store, but that time I plan to buy maverick audio but no stock -.-"
So now looking for another option.
is it big different between D10 and D12? actually what is the advantage of dual DAC?
Thanks for your reply anyway~!
*
I've tested the D10 and I wasn't impressed by it at all, compared to the iBasso D6. Unfortunately, I couldn't give you a direct comparison of the D10 and the D12. Why not let your ears decide? brows.gif I'm quite sure you'll go for the D12 too laugh.gif

I am thinking of getting a DAC to add into my current HT for listening to song and music. Budget about RM2000. Any good recommendation

For this, better to go to the home entertainment section and request help from there, I am sure more experienced members can guide you there.

For solid state amps, you'll need to be careful on how some reviewers and owners rate their tonality signature as it can vary for one another, like for one most seem to agree that the Violectric V200 is slightly on the darker edge spectrum whereas the Schiit Mjolnir is more aggressive sounding.
*
Hmm. I wouldn't say the Violectric V200 is "dark" dark, but it's just that the presentation is smooth.
That's one characteristic which I've found most consistent among all cable swapping, DAC/CDP swapping, headphones swapping I've done.

In fact there was one time I've managed to component-match my V200 to sound utterly dry and brittle. doh.gif Never again.
