Hi, I just got my Goldring DR150 and the sources are my nokia n9, ps3 and pc. I was hoping to find an amp with dolby surround processor and yet portable at the same time. Hence, the input must be both digital and analogue, unless I get an amp and a dac separately. I thought Tian Yun Zero is great until it only accepts digital source. Is there anything you could recommend. I am torn between being a gamer or a music avid since my budget don't allow me. Fiio seems nice, but does not support Dolby surround.
Any thoughts? Thanks.
Guess I have to stick to stereo then. Fiio Alpen seems to suit my needs perfectly. How's the price?

Hey guys, I hope of getting the Fiio E9 to match with my D2X soundcard, where the output will be my A5+. Is this a suitable addition or is there similarly priced alternatives. Or is my current setup good enough.

Most if not all the DACs that we recommend here are designed for music (stereo / 2.0) and do not support dolby surround. D3 is RCA output if i'm not wrong. ibasso D12 has got optical in and 3.5mm out. Optical input on student budget? Sorry man, but can't help you there.

hi. I'm aiming to get a Fiio E17 for the ridiculously good ratings it has received. However, I don't know if it is practical to my needs (considering the hefty price tag ) I'm a definite bass lover and sorry to say, don't really pay much attention to mids and highs.. well at least to the point that as long as they sound averagely clear. I'm using the Sony MDR XB700s, probably considering an upgrade to the ATH Pro 700 MK2s. My source is a samsung galaxy player. Will the e17 still be the best choice for me? Or should i just get the ibasso d-zero? or maybe the e7?

I have the e5 and they suck big time. just say that i'd get the e17 anyways coz i think occasionally id use it with my pc as well, will the bass improvements on the e17 be a whole lot better than those on the e11?

Just go with the E11, the bass boost coupled with the XB will definitely rumble your head

Yes, if ur source is not PC, get a standalone amp will do like what E1 recommended, Fiio E11.

Hello guys, i'm just making my first step into audiophile world. Due to my limited budget, my first purchase which i'll be making soon would be the ATH-AD300/ATH-T500(not sure yet). So I heard an amp is needed for portable listening and for maximum performance so i'm planning to get 1 with my headphone purchase. So, my rig is either my desktop, Galaxy W or my sony mp3 player. Can I have a recommendation for these usage? I mainly listen to music and games, movies sometimes. Budget i'm not sure. Just hit me with the most suitable beginner amp for a decent price. My budget is definitely low so i'm surveying so I know how much I need to prepare. Thank you very much sifus.
