If my laptop sound start distorted at 50% of volume when I put on my headphone, I should get a DAC or an amp?
*
Remember garbage in garbage out. You hear distortion at 50% using your headphone and that distorted sound may appear at 35% or 45% already but to little to hear it. Even with amp and put at 35% volume, the amp will amplified already distorted sound to higher level. You actually getting a worst results with extra cost.

You should get a replacement for your internal sound card. Which DAC is best candidate.

Also depend on the player you use.

For me if use sound card, foobar is the best. I have stop using itunes, winamp, media player classic and Wmp.

Eh guys i just did some searching around why not an e9 over and e10?
*
Did you say don't care about portability... so E10 is the answer... E9 is portable. And E10 should sound better that E9.

is it possible to disable internal DAC of a media player so that we can use external DAC with it?

If you choose external DAC as output, it's should bypass internal DAC.

Guys... Quick question here.. need help
My setup Desktop PC---> MediaMonkey--->TinyTube DAC---> Beyer DT880 (250)...

so the question if u hear poping/scrething/unknown krak sound, how do i adjust it? do i need to increase the ampdac drive/vol knob? or adjust the PC master vol or i need to adjust the player (mediamonkey) vol ?
PS: AmpDAC and Headphone kinda new less than 50hours usage...

1 more thing... do i need to use EQ? because some of the music seem too flat for me, etc heavy rock, but for other's slow song, it seems with the EQ setting for heavy fast rock song their treble seems to harsh~
*
have you try use shorter USB or change to a different one.?

Not frequent, some of the song and not all time during that song too just slightly and i heard mostly during interval or when im boot/restart my PC..

Nope my room dosnt have aircond, only fan and my 120watt tube amp (but that was off during im listening of course) . . . Will the power source get any effect? dint know that could be the source too hmm.. About tube preamp, i dint know it can suit well for hard rock (as im using one for my guitar rig) is it totally different in audiophile rig?
What do you mean use shorter USB? do you mean USB from my PC --> AmpDAC ?  if that never try that before because i dont have any USB(from PC) to *****(from TTD) (dint know what it called port..)
*
That also USB la... type B

Alright, will try this and will post if this will fix the problem
Im using FLAC file, it count as lossless right? and yup i got pop sound even when booting my pc >.<
Yeah i know about that, but will the burn in fix that pop, 'krack' sound?
*
You connected you amp from pc using RCA cable, that pop coming from your pc sound card.

Why not get usb cable and use the Amp/DAC properly. FLAC is lossless but that doesn't mean no pop/crack sound.

The D/A chip used in the Tiny Tube is a relatively unknown UAC3553B 24/48 USB Audio DAC chip from the Zurich based semiconductor manufacturer Micronas. Analog data signal from the Micronas UAC3553B is then passed on to the 12AT7 twin triode tube, which is then passed on to the popular TPA6120 amplifier chip and out to the headphone sockets.

One of forumer here also having pop/crack with his DAC, after change to shorter USB cable, all gone.

I can't say anything about E10, cos I use it for line out only. Amp part done by CMOY.

Could you say something about the amp part of the E10 VS Cmoy? Which is better ?  hmm.gif smile.gif
*
Cmoy better for me, as I already change to a better opamp.

QUOTE(sonixmedia @ Feb 9 2012, 10:06 PM)
Hey thanks for the input... I realize HD650 is rated at 300Ohm 103db sensitivity...so to your knowledge Fiio E10 is best match for what level of Impedance?  hmm.gif
*
It's say Suitable Headphone Impedance: 16Ω~300Ω
but I would say never go for maximum ohm cos that like pushing E10 to do maximum output.

Same like your PC, try to open so many application until your CPU always 100%, see what happen.

is it possible to connect s3 to cricri+ using a usb cable? can s3 run as a lod?
*
QUOTE(hongrui @ Jul 12 2012, 04:31 AM)
you most probably need a USB-OTG.
.
S3 -> USB OTG -> Cricri+ -> iem/headphones
*
I thought android still not fully support usb dac as output, still in request mode... SIII may detect it as my Xperia S also detect the DAC but cannot choose as output.

Hey there, just got a LOD and interconnect from more2teayap thumbup.gif So when i connect them in this sequence:
iPod classic>LOD> interconnect>cmoy(unadjustable volume)>iem,
the whole song bloated gao gao, hissing terribly loud and very high volume! Thank God i never really push the iem into my ear canal, or else i guess i will never enjoy music again.
Hmm, very disappointed. Just wondering if this is because of cmoy? At the same time, planning to get e11, so may i know can i adjust the volume at e11? And if i set the volume i want thru e11, will the hissing sound produce? If yes, any way to reduce it to zero?
And any suggestion to maximize the SQ of ipod?
*
Why your cmoy don't have volume?

E11 can adjust volume....

Hmm, having a thought here.
ipod 6th gen>LOD>interconnect>FiiO e11>iem.
will it produces hissing if the setup is as above?
*
my previous setup is ipod 3rd gen/4th gen > Fiio LOD > Fiio E11 > headphone/iem work fine...

current is ipod 3rd gen > Fiio LOD > CMOY > headphone/iem.. even better...
