If my laptop sound start distorted at 50% of volume when I put on my headphone, I should get a DAC or an amp?

he will still need an amp after the DAC.

Source PC mostly or maybe sometimes player/phone. But dont care about portability i prefer better sound quality then portability

My setup Desktop PC---> MediaMonkey--->TinyTube DAC---> Beyer DT880 (250)...

so the question if u hear poping/scrething/unknown krak sound, how do i adjust it? do i need to increase the ampdac drive/vol knob? or adjust the PC master vol or i need to adjust the player (mediamonkey) vol ?
PS: AmpDAC and Headphone kinda new less than 50hours usage...

1 more thing... do i need to use EQ? because some of the music seem too flat for me, etc heavy rock, but for other's slow song, it seems with the EQ setting for heavy fast rock song their treble seems to harsh~

Not frequent, some of the song and not all time during that song too just slightly and i heard mostly during interval or when im boot/restart my PC..

Nope my room dosnt have aircond, only fan and my 120watt tube amp (but that was off during im listening of course) . . . Will the power source get any effect? dint know that could be the source too hmm.. About tube preamp, i dint know it can suit well for hard rock (as im using one for my guitar rig) is it totally different in audiophile rig?
What do you mean use shorter USB? do you mean USB from my PC --> AmpDAC ?  if that never try that before because i dont have any USB(from PC) to *****(from TTD) (dint know what it called port..)

Hey there, just got a LOD and interconnect from more2teayap So when i connect them in this sequence:
iPod classic>LOD> interconnect>cmoy(unadjustable volume)>iem,
the whole song bloated gao gao, hissing terribly loud and very high volume! Thank God i never really push the iem into my ear canal, or else i guess i will never enjoy music again.
Hmm, very disappointed. Just wondering if this is because of cmoy? At the same time, planning to get e11, so may i know can i adjust the volume at e11? And if i set the volume i want thru e11, will the hissing sound produce? If yes, any way to reduce it to zero?
And any suggestion to maximize the SQ of ipod?

I believe the S3 is the only one with the USB audio codec currently. S3 + otg works with my predator dac/amp.
