Requirement: i like the sound from TF10. Warm, crisp, good for rock song. So i need an amp that can maintain the sound signature, or does not deviate to much from what TF10 produces

Hello, I'm still an amateur audiophile here and currently a proud owner of a grado sr325is and akg k701. 80% of the time i listen music from my pc via Asus Essence STX sound card.

i just received my hifiman he-500 and found that the music that came out sounds 'anemic' and lacks the energy even though the bass is definitely awesome.

i read through some audiophile forums on the internet that even though hifiman he500 is easier to drive, it still needs a dedicated amp while some other forums say that any amp would do great.

for the time being im considering of getting a dedicated amp and using my essence stx as the DAC but it's no use to get an amp just to make it sound louder.

my budget is around 800 (probably up to rm1000 if its really worth it)

any help/ ideas?

hmm? DAC ady got built in audio filter? What mean build in audio DAC? I prefer more flexible, which the DAC can accept any audio source and output back as digital/analog

I've been looking at O2+ODAC, but recently found out about Schiit Magni+Modi. I'm not sure which one is more suitable for 770. Of course the Schitt ones are cheaper, but if O2+ODAC is much better, then I would prefer to spend that lil bit more for it.

Also, what about this T-MUSO PCM 2706 that guy above this post is talking about? Never heard of it before, Googled no info..
