it will be slight difference only, nothing significant, Leolabs made himself the unit, while JDS uses industrial standard materials, and has branding

And Leolabs is loudsy in term of marketing, not even any silk screen printing or branding on the panel.... mad.gif

Ah I'm blind thanks I forgot that it does. Although can I use multiple amps on top of each other?
*
Don't think u need to do that, unless just for fun and don't mind spoil the sound quality....

U are driving a headphone/iem,not a loudspeaker....Even driving a loudspeaker u just need a preamp + power amp....

QUOTE(un_id @ Jan 26 2013, 02:50 AM)
After choosen my IEM (settled with TF10), now its a hard time to choose an amp. Hope sifu here can advise

Source: ipod/ smartphone
Equipment: ipod/smartphone> custom silver cable> UE TF10 iem
Requirement: i like the sound from TF10. Warm, crisp, good for rock song. So i need an amp that can maintain the sound signature, or does not deviate to much from what TF10 produces
Budget: 200-500 (taking into account used items too)

My options now such as:
1. Hippo cricri
2. Govibe martini
3. Govibe mini box
4. Ordnance .25 <<i cant find review on this
5. Fiio family (maybe e10)

Also pls suggest interconnect cable accordingly

Advise pls notworthy.gif

*
Can take O2 into consideration also...Last time did have a short audition pair with MS1i but personally prefer MS2 more...

can you guys recommend a portable amp for dt 770 250 ohm version?

did some searching online, currently looking at bravo tube amp v2, little dot, fiio e9/10/11....can someone explain to me which one better, why? budget about rm300~

if budget allows, might just get a desktop amp and a portable amp.

If u are in Malaysia, then I have option close to your budget.... blush.gif

Anyway,O2 is available in UK,just the pricing is a bit high, since it's a factory finished:

QUOTE(2wcp @ Jun 2 2013, 02:58 PM)
Hello, I'm still an amateur audiophile here and currently a proud owner of a grado sr325is and akg k701. 80% of the time i listen music from my pc via Asus Essence STX sound card.

i just received my hifiman he-500 and found that the music that came out sounds 'anemic' and lacks the energy even though the bass is definitely awesome.

i read through some audiophile forums on the internet that even though hifiman he500 is easier to drive, it still needs a dedicated amp while some other forums say that any amp would do great.

for the time being im considering of getting a dedicated amp and using my essence stx as the DAC but it's no use to get an amp just to make it sound louder.

my budget is around 800 (probably up to rm1000 if its really worth it)

any help/ ideas?

hmm? DAC ady got built in audio filter? What mean build in audio DAC? I prefer more flexible, which the DAC can accept any audio source and output back as digital/analog
*
Build in DAC here mean DAC+amp inside a box....

QUOTE(wim1983 @ Jun 11 2013, 12:01 PM)
With DAC mean better SQ, with AMP mean louder right?
*
For the DAC,u got a few choices:
-use internal soundcard of the PC,either on-board or PCI/PCIE based
-use external soundcard, through USB connection or SPDIF connection(optical or coaxial)

Quality wise is depend,NO absolute fact that who is better than who....

Some amp come with DAC section, meaning also serve as external soundcard...

*
Actually is digital to analog.....since your PC is digital,so u need to convert to analog for u to listen.... rclxms.gif

Source : Portable Player/Lpatop
Equipment : Going to get Beyer DT770 250 ohm
Requirement : I listen to many genres i.e. rock/pop/rap/orchestra/game or movie ost
Budget : Around 1k

I've been looking at O2+ODAC, but recently found out about Schiit Magni+Modi. I'm not sure which one is more suitable for 770. Of course the Schitt ones are cheaper, but if O2+ODAC is much better, then I would prefer to spend that lil bit more for it.

Also, what about this T-MUSO PCM 2706 that guy above this post is talking about? Never heard of it before, Googled no info.. sad.gif

T-MUSO PCM 2706-entry level USB DAC with headphone output...one of the Lowyat.net classic thingy.... rclxms.gif
