Umm... hard choice, how's Hippo Cri Cri+ compare to FiiO E17?
I did auditioned E7 before, the sound is kind of very high pitch and Hippo (can't remember the model) has much warmer and detail sound, especially on the mid!
Does E17 gives the same output of E7?

Thanks for all the input, my first DAC purchase so I don't want regrets wink.gif

Yeah I'm curious too. Has anyone tried both the Cricri+ and the E17?
And no, E17 gives much stronger output than the thin-sounding E7. I've tried both. E7 is really bad in comparison.

As mentioned before, you don't need the E7 or E17 if it is solely for your iPod. E11 will do good.

If you're planning to use it with ipod only, then get the e11.
If you're using it with your comp only, get the e10.

If you want to use it with both, get the e7 (although I don't recommend it). Better still, just get the e17 and solve the dilemma once and for all brows.gif

Hmmm, read some reviews bout it, I think i will stick to e11 first la since e17's price is doubled than that of e11 sweat.gif
No money wei.. I will start funding and at the same time, go Jaben to audition them.
Oh yea, e11 and hippo box+, which one is better? Or they are good at different things?

E11, hands down. unless you find them too powerful for your IEMs even on low gain output.

Go audition both at Jaben, and tell me if you decide on the Hippobox+. Give you special discount lol tongue.gif

now just to add, get a decent LOD (line out dock) and then connect it tru the amp would give u a cleaner sound than from your 3.5mm build in jack.

if u already know this and have one then disregard my statement

to me. YES. Fiio E11 is the one to go.

The e11 packs a lot of power, u can never go full volume with these because just by turning the knob little by little can get really high volume.

Also, the EQ settings are simple to tweak with, if you basshead, u will definitely love it.

Fiio e11 to me is darn powerful, drives my headphones and IEMs to become real bass monsters. battery life also not bad. can always last from 10-12 hours la. sometimes even more.

From all your posts to date, it really looks like you can't tell the difference of a DAC from an Amp hmm.gif Do make an effort to Google for the relevant definitions and applications.

T-Muso is a DAC while the CMoy is an Amp nod.gif

I read reread reread a few times adi andmy understanding towards DAC and Amp still so-so oni sweat.gif Can the t-muso became a portable DAc? it has the big big usb connector input at one side.. Cmoy will be just nice nod.gif

DAC produces pure audio signal while amp amplies the amplitude of audio signal, making the volume of the song larger.

What is your definition of portable hmm.gif or small enough to carry around with your lappy or with in-built battery power to work with your DAPs hmm.gif

Without a good understanding how DAP, DAC and Amp works individually as well as a chain, you can be here posting for the next couple of months and get no where.

what do you understand so far for a DAC and an amp? i'll try to help

Correct for the Amp, but not for the DAC.

DAC stands for digital to analogue converter. so it pretty much does what it's named for. converting digital signals to analogue signals. a dac is required for converting data (files, cd signals) into analogue (audible audio) signals.

a digital file in your hdd needs to be processed via a DAC before the signal can be amplified by an amplifier.

sound cards actually consist of both a DAC and an amp.

Yeah fiio e11 is better unless you find it too big/strong compared to the hippobox. And you should concentrate on amps only. Forget the DAC part for now as you're only playing from your ipod
