Well, you could always put the wooden flooring (like those from Floor Depot) to the ceiling for ground floor.

For 1st floor room can do like this.

plain plaster ceiling is the most economical... it should be around RM2 - 2.2/ ft2
Doubt you will be able to get alternative ceiling material lower then these.

For ground floor, can always skim coat onto the plain concrete.

These are the most economical... smile.gif

It is apply a thin muddy compound to smooth out rough concrete surface.
The finished product will look similar to the plaster ceiling.

seriously, get people who are going to remove your asbestos to wear mask and hand glove as it could cause cancer to the worker. It is so deadly that singapore has officially ban using asbestos years ago and also certain procedure to remove those. smile.gif

Plaster ceiling is one of the most economical ceiling you would find in the market i guess. smile.gif

Those are aluminium tee ceiling with board. Why would you want to use that for your house? miss the office environment so much biggrin.gif

most of the board being used today are asbestos free already. unless you are referring to those more than 30 years old houses

hahah no la rather like the clean elegant look with the alu railing between the boards and all easier to lift it and fix things cut holes and etc unlike those that are permanently nailed in..

any idea how to know if my current ceiling is asbestos free ? is there some marking or something that i should look at

dont like the idea of my lovely home is killing me softly.. ahhahaha

one of the problem (minor) you may face with the alum tees ceiling is that the board will uplift slightly when you open the room door. especially for small rooms.
It is does not occur for office as the area is large.

what's the age of your house? Mostly new houses would be using the asbestos free ceiling already.
