I figured out a bypass, but it is confirmed that it's a routing block. All signs point to a linux iptables-style blockage. Also, since these blockages are likely logged (I am quite well versed with the way IPTables worked), it is possible that the log will be scruntinized and the workaround be fixed soon.

Here's how to do it. No point keeping it a secret since it's logged on their effing server. You'll need to be already on GoogleDNS first:
1. Open a tab and point it to a nonexistant page on Megaupload's site to get a 404 (ie. www.megaupload.com/\)
2. Open another tab and load Megaupload again. It will work.
3. After a while the connection will fail again. Go back to the tab with the 404 and refresh.
4. You'll earn yourself another few minutes
5. Rinse and repeat.

This is definitely a no-go for large files when using a free account or having no account at all, since you cannot resume.

I tempted to get VPN just to bypass it.

Sigh the cost to surf the net peacefully in 1Msia is really costly.

If let say the user is relying on Yes 4G only, he/she need to purchase alternative file hosting sites (which might get banned in the future) or purchasing VPN that add to the cost of the internet bill. =3=

you sure about this, i have no problems accessing the 'blocked' sites via YES.

I'm mostly a casual user for YES and use it to supplement my Streamyx connection although I do use it when I'm on the move if there is reception around the area.

Since I haven't login lately with YES, I noticed they have blocked the banned file hosting by our beloved MCMC for good. Even using Google DNS or OpenDNS is not working.

I use Fileserve to upload my work in progress reel for my clients, I do not want to jump to another file hosting site due to this hard block (we can bypass the block for Streamyx using Google DNS/OpenDNS).

So it is me or do other YES users are not affected by this hard block?

Canadian isps are blocking vpns so it can happen.

For odd reason the banned sites have been lifted and is now accessible through YES. Will update the title of the thread now.

Also I'm not trying to create false information. Around the time I've created the thread, the said banned file hosting sites by MCMC is inaccessible and sites such as FileSonic and Hotfile is accessible.

Sorry for all the confusion especially to YES users (though I stand corrected around the afternoon (2-3pm) of 29th June 2011, the list of banned websites is inaccessible).
