Bro Katsumoto,
Towfoo is a very-fish-suka type of place. Back then around 5~7years ago, me and Chun used to flock that place. We have tried funny things and landed fishes - AND IT"S SEASONAL!! This month's fav may not work for next month or so.. smile.gif

These are what we tried
1. Buah Keras
2. KFC chicken skin
3. Rojak kuah from a stall along the way from Sg Buloh(other shop tamao)
4. Dedak + Whisker cat food (there's a particular flavour but i coulnt recall)
5. Roti Canai

Interesting isnt?

QUOTE(chun @ Aug 13 2012, 01:11 PM)
Addon to Bro Rory's Tow foo recipe...

The whiskas cat food is "ocean sea" flavour...

As Rory said.. very seasonal... there was once Sunsweet Prunes was the favourite.... but only about a week....

All kinds of funny funny recipe la... Last I went with the photo I showed using the pen rod... is pellet + banana flavour..

Try using light leaders (10-14 lb) and long-shank hooks for the pacu... noticed that wires and thick leaders not so fancy..

Tow Foo pond got sell those choc/pandan/kacang flavoured buns.

It works 1 month ago but i still consider the rate low coz whole night only landed 2-3 pacus and patin, now i m not sure whether it still works.
sorry bro, i was getting drunk in Melaka when u called the other night. Call me when u go again.
*
LOL i really facepalm when seeing those recipe , no wander now less people go to tow foo pond lah doh.gif

because the fish really picky on the bait lah

QUOTE(kumanosuke @ Aug 13 2012, 03:50 PM)
My friends and i were in EAK last week, we were there for whole day but ended up white fruit except 2 small Pacus caught using worms.

We saw a lot of fishes especially Red Tilapia swimming in groups near to the hut's bank. So we wrapped the whole hook with pellets and dedak; threw some pellets to the water to attract them then cast. In the end, all the pellets are gone, the hooks also emptied.

Then we tried potato bread on the opposite side also no takers.

I think it is most likely skill problem instead of fish outsmarting us. Any sifu going tow foo, EAK or Semenyih Fish valley soon ? I think need to learn from u guys.
*
i might heading to EAK this sunday if they still open that is, sunday is hari raya i think they be close right ???

1 more thing about the red talapia , in case you try bottom fising with them all you can get is lamban .
i when to EAK so many times only manage see 1 malay land talapia and he was using floating method to fish

you dump a bunch of bread let them float wait until the bread float to middle of lake, if the bread is at side of the lake talapia wont even touch them
when you see there action on the bread cast yours to the group, must let it float if sink you wont get a bite .
then pray you get a bite , i personally try this before it does work BUT in most case before the talapia bite your bite usually the hook already separate from the bread .... rclxub.gif

PS: this work too at the lower dam, but instead of talapia you get pacu drool.gif drool.gif

Back to KL already bro. Went to EAK yesterday with a few friends. Baby pacu frenzy. Almost 1 cast 1 fish with chicken intestines. Size about 300-400g. LOL!

Friend got a strike on a 2kg pacu. The fight was tremendous!

Another friend who was casting, towards the night at about 8pm, managed to land 2 pacus about 800g-1kg on a micro popper(bright/neon colored).

Overall not bad. =)

Looking for Roller clutch & gear shaft collar. Schematics

Warranty on your own,.. basically this seller is reputable operating a big store in US. He is kind enough to replace me with a brand new reel. Shipping back to KL by Vpost billed me SG$34, with shipping, its still cheaper than buying locally. Now I have 2 reels for the price of one,... hoping to source cheap parts to get the faulty one up and working. No custom tax

You really have to bid hard and keep within your budget, some models are really cheaper compare to our market. Seems to be a trend to get rid of the TDA Super tuned and tierra now,.. also the old Steez.
Dont bother with Shimano & Abu, its cheaper here. Daiwa is cheaper in US with bids,.. but its a risk you have to take, hence get from reputable seller.
*
ahhh thanks for the info bro 1dollar

just 1 more question can you tell me which reputable seller are you buying from ?

Morning Bro Katsumoto,
May i know where did you get the carbontex washer in sheet?

There is set back, so watch out for it smile.gif When you cut(as rounded as possible), the end will still be furry. That will case alot of dirt from the carbontex itself making the drag may not functioning optimally. Bro Daddy has this problem when he sent his reel for upgrade the last i know smile.gif
*
Bro Rorytate

the carbontex i order from internet , AUD$25 including delivery

about the furry end the seller already told me how to deal with it , he ask me cut the washer a bit bigger or almost the same size
then use 1000 grade sand paper slowly sand the edge of the washer, so the final product will have nice edge without the furry part

Added on August 16, 2012, 10:37 pmok i finish install the carbontex, so far testing drag using hand pull
i can feel the drag is abit more smooth then original and in low drag setting i get more drag then original washer

need to go field test for it actual performance

was at ss2 tackle earlier... spotted the last abu premier there, old stock with old low price I think. aunty said 550, my guess you can tekan more if you're genuine buyer. hidding beside the PRM was a LTX.

william & ken, should consider it, or just go buy it over this weekend.

yes.. correct...  biggrin.gif

dirt from it required frequent cleaning... cutting 'rounded as posible' still make you losing 10-15% its functions.. as mine 'rounded as posible' looks like hexagon... doh.gif  just imagine how much i'm loosing... lucky i upgrade my thumb brake using racing brake pad... MuaHaHaHa... laugh.gif
*
thanks for the tip thumbup.gif
but after i install the carbontex i found i have more constant low drag

btw i m heading to tow foo pond this midnight after i finish my movie at IOI mall

for PB, you can go up to 90mm lures. but 70mm lures seems to be the sweet spot for me.

the colour that i have is silver, pink, orange, green, white.

minnow profile lure seems to be more versatile. it darts well also.

pb whack almost anything that moves. you can play top water, sub surface or diving lures.
*
what does minnow mean ?
