How come Google Map 5.7 installed can't do voice direction?

After the latest Gingerbread upgrade by KIES, i'm so happy with it....no more silly lagging.

So, I wish to buy another one Samsung Galaxy S-I9000 for my father. I have checked the market and found out the following :-

- New unit price range from RM1,300 to RM1,700 (why such a big diff). Might as well pay for SGS-2
- Is there any SGS-I9000 without Super Amoled screen? Cos some seller selling cheaper without it.

Any advice to get a reliable value for money deal?
