is it still no Gingerbread update for this baseband I9000XXJPY??

iinm, this is French version

when connected to Kies, it shows 2.2.1 as latest firmware, using the check for update feature within the phone, shows the same result

I am now flashing the phone to 2.3.4 using Odin, and I have to use adb command to force the phone to restart in download mode, then I proceed to flash it with Odin 1.82.

In Odin, the process stucks at SetupConnection status, it just stays there for few minutes without any response, the program itself isn't hang, it just stops there, checked taskmanager there's no CPU usage and RAM usage remain the same for quite some time..

what has happened..

in Odin, the program able to detect my SGS, there's a yellow box showing [COM8] and I can see the "added!" line in one of the statuses..

successfully flashed to 2.3.4 XXJVQ on 3rd attempt

the first two returned black screen of death, and can't be turned on at all, luckily it still respond to the 3 button combo and returned to download mode
