oh ya guys, need some strong opinion about this, don't you think that too much flashing can reduce our internal flashing memory and eventually the phone life span also will decrease? i'm kinda heavy flasher too, and sometimes when i think again, i've flashed my phone about 10-20 times already, perhaps more. and i dont even have any slightest idea how to check whether this flashing process affect my phone or not.
*
i asked the same question long time ago, but it seems that one of our forumers found that, actually our internal NAND flash memory can last for quite a lot of flashes...
I think it should be fine as long as we flash moderately, i myself flashed like 30 ~ 50 times, average 1 month, around 10 flashes LOL but that was b4 MIUI was stable

*
once or twice a week? haha try 1 week four to five... XD
after fornaxlife and a few more guys helped me out to fix my semibricked sgs last time, i was curious all the time, flashing this flashing that, like all the time

Added on July 22, 2011, 2:22 pmanybody on miui lagging???

I'm using Glitch v11 kernel with stock MIUI from miuiandroid.com, every time i flash MIUI, after a week, the phone will start to lag A LOT~

Yes, but it's as smooth as Froyo's speedmod. The only lag I encounter so far is when installing an application from Market (writing to /data) and that happens with every kernel I've tried.
*
for no reason, i dont know why i ddint like voodoo lagfix LOL...

mayb i just like to see the process not HEAR it? XD

Yeah, that happens only once smile.gif

So far Voodoo lagfix is stable for me. Only problem is it can't install apps more than 27MB. That can be solved by converting to RFS then installing then converting back to Ext4.
*
that's our phone's cache limitation i heard, but there's a workaround if i remember correctly

not samsung's fault.
*
from what i read last time, its becoz samsung ddint release some of its codes... i'm not sure myself but AOSP is really something compared to stock samsung roms, weirdly last time i find froyo a better rom to stick with as its stable but a bit laggy, now gingerbread roms are like full of bugs, LOL but thats my experience after using AOSP roms that is... MIUI is just too good but i just dont know why after a week on MIUI, it gets laggy...

samsung has released the kernel source code as per GPL. touchwiz OTOH is closed source. But it doesn't matter because cm7 & miui will never be able to port anything from touchwiz framework. Another part which is closed source are drivers where samsung are forced to sign NDA by hardware suppliers (said by atinm). cm7 team will have to reverse-engineer these drivers to get every piece of hardware working properly with the OS.
*
oh ic...
haiz why must it be so hard.... if samsung roms are no longer stable i wonder what is...

switched to launcher pro on cm7, so much nicer... haha

actually i'm quite surprised that cm7 can be so stable for my usage, frequent smses, wifi, no force closes YET, even some games feel must smoother and faster on it... I'm also using auto killer to free up memory automatically

but the battery drain is a b****...

i sms a lot too.but didn't download anything. i feel cm7 drain the most battery on wifi surfing.
*
yup my wifi is basically on 24/7 LOL with or without download/surfing...

cm7 feels so much lighter than MIUI, MIUI ui is just great but gives a very heavy usage feeling, and the app killer function kills a lot of background apps LOL
