hi all, just fast question. I'm using miui now, if i want to flash back to GB rom, do i need to flash base rom? Or just flash directly to other ROM?
*
just flash to any stock rom WITH REPARTITION.

or

EZbase 3.0 > custom rom.

I actually thinking of flash to CM7, nvr try b4. Everyone also saying it's GOOD!!!

i'm using EZbase2.0 with MIUI, so if i were to flash to CM7, need to flash to froyo with boatloaders? or EZbase 2.0 is froyo base already?
*
no need just go into recovery wipe data,go into mount and storage wipe system, wipe data, wipe datadata, wipe cache.then flash latest nightly and you will get 2.3.5! biggrin.gif

what is nandroid backup as stated in CM7 page?

Noted...try now...finished dl alr...haha biggrin.gif
*
nandroid is like "factory image" in our PC. With a nandoird backup ,if you accidentally installed something which mess up your phone just go into recovery and "recover" to the "image" that you made using nandroid.

Any Advice

you have to use market enable to change the code to 31020 or any other US code.

What's the difference between MIUI and CM7, only the theming engine?
*
a lot. speed and interface of cause. cm7 is clean, light and pure android feel cmpare to MIUI which is a little bit heavy and iphone-ish feel.

MIUi is base on cm7 so file system are sam, yffs2. battery i think MIUI last longer. cm7 almost every day release update, MIUI maybe once a week.

For me, it's the best ROM for SGS. Based on my experience so far, it's super fast, virtually no lag at all, gps locks quickly and accurately, very stable, daily updates are released, battery life is acceptable, it has no samsung touchwiz layer and apps - feels very plain android (some people consider this ugly), 3G and wifi and bluetooth work fine etc.

Some downsides:

1. You lose the Samsung video player with native hardware acceleration/decode (i.e. smooth) MKV and AVI playback.
2. FM Radio probably works, but is pretty buggy and limited for now.
3. If you're not using a big extra capacity battery on your phone, the battery consumption may be too much for you.
4. Compass doesn't work (not sure about this, never used it before)
5. A new nightly update sometimes brings new bugs or reintroduces old previously fixed bugs.
6. It's not the final version, the ROM keeps changing and improving day by day, I don't know if or when a final release will come.
7. No telco-based video call feature so far unless you use apps like Tango.
*
1.we can always use MOBO player. so no problem for that.
3. battery life improve a lot except you are super heavy user. moderate use can last up to 1day.
6. hmm, hmm.gif maybe after sgs 3 or 4 launch?LOL!

Flashed gingerbread bootloaders over my CM7 last night, after reading that many people get improved standby battery life using the GB bootloaders.

And from what I've seen so far, that is very true. i still have 55% of battery left after 15 hours of use, in which 8 hours were idle standby (sleeping) and the rest were moderate usage ( few phhone calls, a few games, sms and light browsing).

Will report back after a few days on how it goes. From what i can see so far, it improves the STANDBY battery drain but not the battery drain when IN USE.

Apparently you lose access to your external sd card though, but i dont use one, so cant test. keep in mind that flashing GB bootloaders over CM7 IS AT YOUR OWN RISK
*
so how is it? any problem beside external sd card?
