Was just wondering, since the fees are so expensive and their requirement are so ridiculous (if its true) plus most people stop their education at undergraduate level. Cause my company research now have somewhat related to this subject matter.
So wanted to know how many students are there that would take up their masters program.
And BTW, the university does not offer full scholarship to students... even dean student are only given a certain percentage of discount.... its not a charity corporation u know...
and government funding does not tie down to UNMC alone... postgraduate for government sponsorship is rare and limited.
Just want to know, Are you a student or staff of UNMC? From your replies throughout the threads looks like you are part of the university student consultant/service/admin body staff. Or you are a diehard UNMC fan..
and if you are a student of UMNC... may i know how old are you, what cours you are taking and what year/semester are you in. Just curious about this since you are so particularly active about the university.
Okay, here I am! (having a war with my project report, and shall return to frontline soon!)
If I am not mistaken, the academic requirement is 2:1 and above right? That, to me, is not ridiculous at all because almost all universities in the UK (and probably in US - but they want GRE, GMAT etc. in addition to it) take in only research student with 2:1 and above.
As for fee, well, you have to ask how the government invites all these private universities to come in and charge so highly and make their own public university so unattractive to join. It's expensive, but as I say, most (if not all) postgraduate students here are funded, either by the university of MOHE (and similar government body. For instance, MOSTI for engineering students). They are not rare, myPhD is another thing that comes straight to my mind that can offers sponsorship here. A good way to find out all these is go through the postgraduate admission tutor of the department/school you want to go in. He/she should have information whether there's available funding from all parties.
I am Mechanical Year 4, on my second last day of lecture week here. I am not a staff (damn, I want a staff sticker!!), just a student. To me, I find this group fun - that's why I maintain it.
And don't get me started on bashing this university that appears out of nowhere like a meteor crash site.

It's not about whether you like the University or paid to speak good words of it. It's about making the most out of what you choose and live with the choice you have made.

Now you know. Welcome to Nottingham!
