Oh.. now I understand!! Thanks.
Actually, I read online that abortion in Malaysia is illegal after 120 days (that's approx 4 mths).

I decided to stick with Dr Aziz since I checked with two other hospitals- Assunta and Tung Shin and the doctors' charges are around the same.

This NICC blood test will be done at 12 weeks, sent to HK, and costs RM3k. It's highly accurate (99%).

If I have anymore info that I could share with you guys, I'll post again!

If you prefer non invasive chromosome test, you should go for NICC test. It wasn't available last year. I did amniocentesis when my early screening blood test indicated high risk for Down Syndrome. Amniocentesis is 100% accurate but there is also a slight chance of miscarriage (1 in 100). Cost as per last year is RM2.2k at Prince Court Medical Centre. I did it in Week 16, and everything turns out good.

If I am given a option of amniocentesis or NICC test, I'll definitely choose the latter due to the risk of miscarriage.

Hi Periwater,
Do you mean the NICC at Prince Court was RM2.2k last year or the amniocentesis?
If NICC, then its super cheap considering Prince Court is NOT a cheap hospital. If Amniocentesis, its expensive as I heard it only costs RM600 elsewhere...

Congrats, Lolie !

No, Prince Court didn't have NICC in year 2013/14, so the only option is amniocentesis. At the moment, price is not essential to me. Most importantly, I have a good Dr specialising in amniocentesis and he has clean record in ensuring the safety of my baby. icon_rolleyes.gif
