Hi, would like to know what is the normal charges to see a gynae doctor? I went to tawakal hospital, the gynae doctor gives some medicine, do some scanning of my baby(1st baby, 6 weeks ++ )
and the charges as below:

medicine: rm35
consultation: rm 80
procedure: rm 150

Anyone know what is the "procedure" refers to? I dont really realize this untill i check the breakdown details at home, so not able to ask the person.

Total: rm 265, is this too expensive? The service is so so, the doctor dint talk much, and we already told him this is out first baby, but, he also dint advise what we should dos and donts. A bit disappointed of the service provided with rm265

Any recommandation of good mandarin speaking gynae doctor in KL area?

I think the procedure is the scanning??

My doc charge not more than 100..with medication.  That was 2 yrs ago.  I went Sarmukh..along genting Klang.  Delivered my son there too.

Hi where is Sarmukh? Is it at the main road of jln genting kelang, same row as the perodua showroom, sky foodcourt?

when i was going there..i usually like Dr Mani as he's the talkative one..Dr Sarmukh...kinda quiet..but you also got to ask lots of things..then they will answer your questions.

We are new to this "baby" thingy. so we dont really know what to ask, but prefer to listen the advices from the professional

Places like KPJ, Gleneagles, tawakal, SJMC..please expect around that region.  Unless you go to small maternity hospitals..then it will be lesser than RM100.

Hi, my fren told me the SJMC just charged her around rm50! but this was 1-2 years ago, not sure the price now.

My wife also pregnant for 7weeks +

Last week went to see a doc recommended by a friend in Tmn Connaught Cheras Dr.Asokan he also practice in Pantai cheras.

First time went he did scan ultrasounds (with two photos) plus consultation only RM70.

Of course he is very friendly and soft spoken. Overall experience is good good smile.gif

did he tells you what to do and donts? or the doctor only answer when you ask?

To my knowledge..doc would advise dos and don't when there's problem (ie spotting, cramps).  if it looks normal and you never complained anything..then they don't say much unless you have questions.

In fact, there's not much dos and don't in the medical sense (if pregnancy is ok)..it's only our cultural beliefs that has the dos and don't

Added on June 28, 2011, 3:26 pmsome are pretty common sense..like don't carry heavy stuff..don't run..

hehhe maybe my mindset is wrong. when i pay more, i expect more input from doctor icon_rolleyes.gif
after read your reply, now i have a question here, actually what are the differences if i visit a doctor who costs me rm50 and rm 200? if both are them are just quiet and say nothing? it is really a dilema to go for expensive or cheaper doctor rclxub.gif

sigh, headache doh.gif

ahhah just to update for the charges. I found that rm235 was damn cheap. I just went to Gleneagle hospital for second checkup, it cost me rm6xx smile.gif
But this time, my wife and myself feel ok, eventhough it is X3 expensive than the previous one.

wow, it has been a very long time i do not visit this topic which I opened last year! and now, my super cute baby girl almost 10 months!

all the money is spend is worth for the baby. Of course if you can get a cheaper and good doctor, why not smile.gif
