QUOTE(phythia79 @ Jun 28 2011, 09:32 AM) when i was going there..i usually like Dr Mani as he's the talkative one..Dr Sarmukh...kinda quiet..but you also got to ask lots of things..then they will answer your questions. We are new to this "baby" thingy. so we dont really know what to ask, but prefer to listen the advices from the professional

QUOTE(jetwash @ Jun 28 2011, 09:33 AM) 340 is normal for prince court, but 265 is expensive even for a private hospital.. pusrawi in kota damansara (different management with pusrawi tun razak) charges rm70 on average for maternity visits (including scans).. basically you can get a much more reasonable price, for the same level of care (if not better).. i see. i thought it was average since in first few months pregnancy we went to kpj and got charged that much each visit. anyway, thanks for the info.

Places like KPJ, Gleneagles, tawakal, SJMC..please expect around that region. Unless you go to small maternity hospitals..then it will be lesser than RM100.

My experience sending my wife to Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital... and all my three kids birth at the hospital and the charges for pregnancy checkup below RM100... normally I've to pay around rm75 (consultation & scanning) and the total with meds ranges RM100 - RM150. Oh, he's not speak mandrin... For normal delivery charges at the hospital (3 days & 2 night): 4 bedded - RM2150 (if not mistaken) 2 bedded - RM2450 (if not mistaken) 1 bedded - RM2650 (this the normal package I took) but upon discharge the charges I need to pay is less than RM3k. QUOTE(imyourlimbeh @ Jun 28 2011, 02:48 PM) did he tells you what to do and donts? or the doctor only answer when you ask? To my knowledge..doc would advise dos and don't when there's problem (ie spotting, cramps). if it looks normal and you never complained anything..then they don't say much unless you have questions. In fact, there's not much dos and don't in the medical sense (if pregnancy is ok)..it's only our cultural beliefs that has the dos and don't Added on June 28, 2011, 3:26 pmsome are pretty common sense..like don't carry heavy stuff..don't run.. I believe in seeing a doctor that you are most comfortable with. Identify where you want to deliver..and see if you are comfortable with the doctor there.
Of coz budget also plays a part too..but if you are ok with any cost..then your only problem would be finding the right doctor.

when i went for first time check up with Dr Guna (Damansara specialist hospital), i was 2-3 weeks pregnant. Cannot see the sac yet.
He told me to wait for another month for check up. Don't talk about those can do or cannot do first. Confirm whether its pregnancy first and pray hard baby is ok. cuz first 12 weeks is very unstable. Take my folic acid.
while my GP advise, don't simply eat medicine. Best if don't take any medicine to prevent harming the baby.

One of the reason being an Ob/gyn is unpopular lately is the risk of lawsuits And talking will make you sit longer in their office, hence longer waiting time for other patients? And I think different cultures have different rituals / beliefs etc .. some may not want to argue / discuss on those with you.. when I try to bring up that subject, my ob/gyn personally said "in modern medicine, there are a lot of things that we dont know... " Heh

I remember last time check up my wife at pusrawi kl, DEMC shah alam, for the 1st appointment checking a bit expensive, rm200-350 next
appointment much cheaper around 100-150. Usually the cost will be high if u scan every check up, the most expensive DEMC shah alam cost me
about rm350 for check up+medicine+consultation+3d scan. Pusrawi KL much cheaper i think RM150.
