Is there any way I can defer my exam fees? I know it's too late but I suddenly feel like I've lost all my confidence for one of the papers I'm taking.

QUOTE(Doreamon10 @ Nov 19 2011, 08:37 AM) Don't defer lah. Just try to do your best, don't be so stressed. We still have about 4 more weeks to prepare. Maybe you will be lucky to have similar questions you have attempted before? Will failing really tarnish our cert? Does it have a big impact on it?If for reason you are afraid that the result for this paper might tarnish your past records, you can opt for "script not to be marked" after your attempt if you really really think your script sucks. Just try lah, ok? Don't give up at this point. Think of the efforts you have put in for the past few months. Jia you jia you. |

QUOTE(liez @ Dec 1 2011, 12:36 AM) Guys I want to take accounting course next year. can I know:- Kasturi is pretty cheap. or can try elitejaya also. both much cheaper than sunway! sunway uni now increase the resource fee from 300 to 400 1) to do ACCA, is it that I need to do CAT first and if yes, where can I get the cheapest but good & effective CAT course? 2) where can I get cheap and good ACCA course? I last heard that UTAR provide ACCA course thats not too expensive as well. BTW, seniors...is it possible to pass f7 based on calculations alone? I hear so many seniors who passed saying just focus on q1,2 and 3 is enough to pass.. |

QUOTE(colleenlee @ Dec 5 2011, 01:43 PM) I heard that CIMA is much harder than ACCA. Do u have degree qualification? If u have, just take it slowly since u have some exemptions. What do you mean by stuck?Btw, i'm stucked with ACCA toooooooo... I don't have degree qualification as I took CAT..Now I'm 21 but still doing f7-f9..Many of my friends had graduated last sem. I'm really scared of getting stuck in this course |

QUOTE(cckkpr @ Dec 5 2011, 02:36 PM) If you are doing repeated papers, get a job to ease your financial strain and stress. You dont need a lot of time to do repeated papers; do some updates and find out where you did badly. I wanted to get a job next year but so many people suggested me not to..My lecturers, my seniors and my peers who are working while studying part time. If touchwood unable to graduate from acca..What's the next sensible choice? Change course or just work with a lowly CAT/OBU? |

QUOTE(notmycupoftea @ Dec 5 2011, 04:48 PM) work with CAT qualification is way too kesian Yea die die also must pass and graduate! Already reach this level cannot quit! work with OBU, can la, but...i heard some lowyat members said OBU isn't like real degree, cannot be compared to real degree. so, the best is, study smart and hard until u complete ur ACCA! dun waste time thinking "i might not be able to finish my acca" take the papers slowly (take 2 papers per sem), do some part time job or full time also ok if u can cope with. sometimes a student is not that stupid to fail a paper, but he/she might just get too lazy to revise, or get distracted by entertainment. and the most important thing is the exam day itself, must be able to keep calm, even though a candidate sees a strange and hard question, do not give up but keep writing something tat makes sense. if u leave the question blank, u are wasting ur time and ur money. we paid few hundred ringgit to write on a booklet, die die also must use more than half of the booklet la (for professional level). QUOTE(cckkpr @ Dec 5 2011, 04:59 PM) Doing one/two papers at a time now is not as difficult as made out to be. It's definitely possible if the effort is put in. Previously, during the professional stages, its passes in ALL 4 papers at the same time for each level and yet quite a number of ppl did it. |

QUOTE(tzxsean @ Dec 5 2011, 07:53 PM) this p7 paper Not fast man..Assuming I pass these papers and continue taking 2 p papers per sem..Without failing I could only graduate at 23..Whereas those who started out same year with me had already graduated last sem really alot of things to write damn i left 6 marks completely blank for question 5 and question 1 some part not completely attempted sure not enough points Added on December 5, 2011, 7:58 pm omg la 21y.o doing f7-f9 is consider fast liao ok? me now 22 doing p3-p7 When I took this course I was thinking I would finish faster than my degree friends but turns out most of them has graduated this sem. Anyway no other choice but to push forward! Good luck all! |

QUOTE(tzxsean @ Dec 5 2011, 11:05 PM) what's with this wrong mindset? Yea I understand la..but seeing as to how CAT and ACCA were promoted as a 3 year course, I just feel bad for not completing it within 3 years..professional cert > degree so what if ur frens graduated earlier than u ntg wrong with that i duno wads wrong with ur thinking but even u pass in 23 it is still considered young n u really could have take 3 or 4 at one go if u're full time student... so it's probably ur problem 3-4 P papers? Actually I failed once in cat..from that point on I never felt confident in my studies already so I take less papers per sem..ended up I become damn slow (took 1 year to do f4,5,6).. then I realize it was silly of me to lose confidence.. so now trying to pick up speed so I'm taking 4 papers (f7-p1) QUOTE(nothingz @ Dec 5 2011, 11:12 PM) no doubt the accounting standards are quite easy. that Q5 IAS 38 worths 12 marks, which can be said is a gift You working mah..Your progress is understandable..I'm full time student aiyo, you all are so funny la. i am elder than you all, also not yet complained, you all so young make so much noise. really beh tahan...... for the past 3 years, i only pass 1 paper per sem due to i am working. there's nothing for you all to complain |

QUOTE(tzxsean @ Dec 6 2011, 12:28 AM) i would advise u dun try to attempt 3 F + 1 P papers at once We'll see if i can make it or not in February..seems possible though..I see classmates taking 4 p level papers at once also 3 papers are still manageable unless u're cream of the crop this is not about the ability for u to study but the scope of learning and content of those papers are very wide |

QUOTE(Prime Solace @ Dec 6 2011, 11:19 AM) Well, that's what the CIMA brochure at my Diploma college said. Are you serious? ACCA is not recognized in Australia? Why the heck are my relatives getting excited? If I'm not wrong ACCA is recognized in Australia. Just that preference will be given to CPA graduates.I wish I could go for CPA, but I only have a Diploma. You need a degree to enter into CPA. Look at the analysis and look what came out for the exams. Those who relied on the analysis will try to spot the questions. That is why I'll never trust the past paper analysis. Are you currently working? QUOTE(cckkpr @ Dec 6 2011, 11:35 AM) For those of you who are in the initial stages of the ACCA program and finding it difficult to get thru the F stage, its better to enrol at MMU and get it through a degree and called yourself an "Accountant". You can then opt for your pro ACCA or CIMA after that. Why MMU? |
