Guys I want to take accounting course next year. can I know:-

1) to do ACCA, is it that I need to do CAT first and if yes, where can I get the cheapest but good & effective CAT course?
2) where can I get cheap and good ACCA course? I last heard that UTAR provide ACCA course thats not too expensive as well.

I passed my f7 by doing q1 to q3 only.. I get 58 out of 75 if I not mistaken. Hehe

Forgive my ignorance , but is ACCA anyway similar to our SPM Prinsip Perakaunan ?

I heard that CIMA is much harder than ACCA. Do u have degree qualification? If u have, just take it slowly since u have some exemptions.

Btw, i'm stucked with ACCA toooooooo... 

If you are doing repeated papers, get a job to ease your financial strain and stress. You dont need a lot of time to do repeated papers; do some updates and find out where you did badly.

work with CAT qualification is way too kesian
work with OBU, can la, but...i heard some lowyat members said OBU isn't like real degree, cannot be compared to real degree.

so, the best is, study smart and hard until u complete ur ACCA!
dun waste time thinking "i might not be able to finish my acca"
take the papers slowly (take 2 papers per sem), do some part time job or full time also ok if u can cope with.

sometimes a student is not that stupid to fail a paper, but he/she might just get too lazy to revise, or get distracted by entertainment.

and the most important thing is the exam day itself, must be able to keep calm, even though a candidate sees a strange and hard question, do not give up but keep writing something tat makes sense. if u leave the question blank, u are wasting ur time and ur money. we paid few hundred ringgit to write on a booklet, die die also must use more than half of the booklet la (for professional level).

Doing one/two papers at a time now is not as difficult as made out to be.

Previously, during the professional stages, its passes in ALL 4 papers at the same time for each level and yet quite a number of ppl did it.

n u really could have take 3 or 4 at one go

no doubt the accounting standards are quite easy. that Q5 IAS 38 worths 12 marks, which can be said is a gift

for the past 3 years, i only pass 1 paper per sem due to i am working. there's nothing for you all to complain

i would advise u dun try to attempt 3 F + 1 P papers at once

3 papers  are still manageable

unless u're cream of the crop

this is not about the ability for u to study

but the scope of learning and content of those papers are very wide

Well, that's what the CIMA brochure at my Diploma college said. Are you serious? ACCA is not recognized in Australia? Why the heck are my relatives getting excited? 

I wish I could go for CPA, but I only have a Diploma. You need a degree to enter into CPA. 
Look at the analysis and look what came out for the exams. Those who relied on the analysis will try to spot the questions. 

That is why I'll never trust the past paper analysis. 

For those of you who are in the initial stages of the ACCA program and finding it difficult to get thru the F stage, its better to enrol at MMU and get it through a degree and called yourself an "Accountant". You can then opt for your pro ACCA or CIMA after that.

but my fren said the f5 open tuition tips quite accurate wor..but he don't have enuf time to finish it..
